Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with this query- we booked out Oct 06 trip to Orlando over the internet before the brochure came out. We booked transfers because my husband if scared of flying and likes to have a drink on the plane - i dont drive. Well I have picked up a brochure now and have noticed that virgin will let you pick your car hire car up the next day. If we swap out transfers to car hire do you think virgin will charge us for changing our booking - if so it will be cheaper to hire separately which is what we were planning to do. :sunny:

I would leave your booking as is, book the car seperately (try uscarhire.co.uk) use the transfer to the hotel and pick your car up the next day. Dollar have desks on I-drive as well as the airport (I believe there might be one at the WDW Swan or Dolphin?) .

Worst case scenario would be a cab to the nearest rental office the next day, which shouldnt be much.

Virgin WILL charge an amendment fee unless you are adding value to the booking (which you probably would be, but their car hire is extortionate!!).

Hi

I would not book car hire through Virgin either. We found some excellent quotes of airline network. We were able to hire a 7 seater car for the same price of a F4 with an extra driver compared to Virgins rentals.

As mentioned you can pick your cars up from WDW and even Lake Buena Vista. You can get transportation to LBV and then get a taxi to the hotel.
