Changing Batteries?

I am starting to pack and I had a question. All of my kids' games and our camera equipment require batteries, so extra batteries are going in the suitcase. The problem is opening the compartments to replace the batteries. They all require a screwdriver (not regular size, but the small kind). I called the airlines and they said "no screwdrivers." So, how to change the batteries once I am there? Do the resorts have these little screwdrivers? Is there somewhere I can buy them between the airport and the resort? I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money because I can't bring them home on the plane.

Seems like a stupid problem, but I have to obsess about something--we leave in less than three weeks!!!!:hyper:

This is an interesting question. I am going to make an assumption that you are not renting a car while you are at WDW. This comes from interpreting your post. Obviously, if you have a rental car, you have no problem finding a place from which you can buy a screwdriver.

Are you going to have a towncar take you from the airport to the resort? If so, you can buy a screwdriver at any of the grocery stores if you have a towncar grocery stop. Do you have to have a flat head screwdriver or a Phillips head one? Maybe you need both.

If you can't make a stop between the airport and the resort to purchase an inexpensive screwdriver, you might consider asking at the resort where you are staying to borrow one from the maintenance staff.

Thanks for the reply, but my concern was finding the tiny screwdriver that they require rather than a regular sized one. We do have a rental car, but I didn't want to waste valuable Disney time driving all over in search of a screwdriver. We are making a grocery stop, do grocery stores stock the tiny ones? I have never noticed at my store. I guess we will just hope for the best!

I'm sure you can pack a small screwdriver in your luggage. Just don't put it in your carry on bag.

Not a problem in your checked luggage. Just don't carry it on the plane. I always travel with stuff like this for business and never had a problem.
