Changing batteries on Princess & the Frog light up spinner?

Help!
I've got a Princess & The Frog light up spinner from Disney on Ice and cannot figure out how to get the battery compartment open, short of undoing all the screws and dismantling the thing entirely. Can anyone help me? I've got several preschoolers here who are distraught because their spinner won't spin

Do you have the receipt for your light up spinner? It's possible if you could try to exchange it for a new light-up spinner if they have another Princess And The Frog spinner in stock or you could try these tips,
1. Try to open the battery door with a coin or paper clip because on some of my toys when they don't work Mom uses a paper clip to open battery doors and it works
2. It's possible that the batteries have exploded and that might make the spinner not work but some new batteries might make it work again
But if you have to return it when you do tell them that your light spinner doesn't work and if they don't have any more in stock ask for a credit
