Have booked tickets, but was only able to get outbound seats which change at Lille. I am confused as it is the same direct service which we board at ashford, but we have to change at lille :confused3

As anyone else travel out this way, is it straightforward at Lille?

Also what do you think would happen is I forgot to change at Lille and stayed on the train:rolleyes1

Bearing in mind I will be travelling with 2 young children and luggage etc, I could see myself innocently missing the change over anyway.:rotfl: But I wouldnot like to put myself in an awkward situation.

I believe you would either end up in Brussels or Paris city centre. I am going in March and we have to change in Lille and if we didnt get off we would end up in brussels. Im not 100 percent sure on this :confused3 but I am sure someone else will be able to clarify :)

The train is the same train that goes directly to DLRP after Lille. I was considering accidently staying on the train when I go in March. By the way no-one checks the tickets on the train or at the DLRP station either :goodvibes

Does that depend what time train you get from London or do they all stop at DLRP station?

As long as you are on the Direct Disney train that leaves in the morning then it will go to DLRP the rest don't.

I went in oct last year and had to change at Lille outbound.
i think if you stay on the train you will not heading for home:lmao: the first train you get isnt a eurostar tain when you first leave DLP. we had a double decker train, was very busy when we went in oct.

i couldnt really see any signs for which platform we had to get when we got off at lille. i ended up showing a train assistant my tickets to show where i wanted to go, which was a totally diff platform.(being a eurostar train) we had a 30min wait but that went quite quick rushing to find the train and it was hard work we had 2 suitcases each and trying to get them down the stairs (and up) was a nightmare (the train was a double decker from DLP to Lille). plus me and my friend werent seated together from DLP to LIlle, but a kind lady did offer to swap with me so we could sit together.
Then you have to go through secruity check before you get on train back home
but once on the train all was good. the time went quite quickly untill we got to the tunnel we had a 40min wait before we were allowed in the tunnel.

We have to change at Lille on the way there as I couldnt get to London early enough to get early train which is a bit annoying as now we are staying in London because I managed to get a lastminute.com 4* hotel for £10 but cant change train tickets.

So its not that easy to change at Lille? I also have 30 mins but hopefully other half may carry my case lol.

other people might find it quite easy to get around, this was my first trip without my family my brother is like a human map he just knows where to go. i was in panic mode i guess:rotfl: soon as i got off the train at Lille i just panicked even more there was loads of people. im sure i did see signs saying where to go etc, but at the time it was a bit of blur i just headed straight to the first train man:lmao: i could see.

it was just me and my friend, so we had no man help with the cases, we found it funny at the time, we were laughing so much trying to get suitcases up the stairs and how people just sat and watched us. then the doors nearly closed on my friend as you do into your carriage......if we didnt laugh i think we would of cried lol

im sure it will be easy for everyone else to get around at Lille just not me:lmao:

we did this for our first trip as it worked out much cheaper than going direct.we didn't find it too much trouble and that was with 4 of us, bags and buggy.

when you get off the eurostar, you have to head upstairs to the station area, look for your tgv train (look for the train number on your ticket) on the departures board and then head to the right platform which if i remember rightly are by letter. there are plenty of signs, so i wouldn't personally worry too much about it!:thumbsup2

I always thought this, I'm guessing if your on the direct train but have to get off at Lille, if you stay on then someone else getting on at Lille may booked your seats so then you would have to move and hope there is spare seats elsewhere on the train.

With regards to staying on the train, you might be lucky...

When we went in January, there was an announcement made on the train stating that if you had tickets for DLRP that said you should change, they would allow you to remain on the train and not bother.

So - keep your ears open or if you're brave enough, as if you'd be able to do it and you might just be allowed.

Cap 'n' Jack

Please let me know if you accidently stay on the train when you travel in March :) .

It sounds like it's going to be 'hard work' changing at Lille, I do not understand how the train is a direct train and yet still have to change at Lille :confused3

Anyway when I have travelled before and the train stopped at Lille hardly anyone got onto the train.

Going back to the Uk from disney my train is direct with no changes - thankfully :goodvibes
