I have a package for next week booked already from before the ticket prices increased. At the time, strictly because of ROL, I did the park hopper option. Now that it's a no go, I have no need for the hopper for this trip. I was going to call and remove the hopper option Saving a couple hundred, but just apply it to adding the dining plan. Is it true that if I remove the park hopper, I'll have to pay the new ticket prices since technically I'll be converting my ticket? Thanks in advance.

If you are within the "cancel with penalty" part of the trip, which I think is 30 days for a package, you will get a fee of some sort. They would probably allow you to upgrade without a penalty, but I would expect to pay something to downgrade a ticket this late in the game. It couldn't hurt to call and ask.

Will you lose money by converting to non-Park Hopper? Meaning will dropping Hopper mean that you end up paying actually more for your tickets with the price increase, should they charge you? If not, I wouldn't worry too much about it, as at this point you would be working with 'found money.' You had budgeted everything up to this point anticipating paying for Park Hoppers. If, however, you would lose money then just stick with the Hoppers.

It also depends on who you might talk to. The rule is on the books that they can charge you the new price but because you booked before the changes you might not get that charge. It never hurts to just call Disney and ask. Doesn't mean you have to go through with it. A phone call to a nice CM can work wonders where an email and the discussion boards cannot.

A friend of mine wanted to add a day to her ticket during a stay at the end of March. She was told it would be $143 total to add 1 day to each of her 3 tickets. I went to the front desk (at Poly ) and was told the same thing. This made no sense to me, it should only cost $15 per ticket. Long story short, she had booked her trip prior to price increase so they were charging her the increased price to add the day. The CM was able to add the day and credit the increase the system was charging.
You may have an issue trying to change your ticket.
