The airfare for my down flight has gone down from $141 to $101. But the return airfare has gone up from $49 to $79. Is there a way to rebook only half of my trip? If I put it in as a one way ticket, the price goes up to $131, hardly worth the bother of rebooking.

Has anyone ever rebooked only half of their flight?

thanks-

Well, I was able to change it using the one-way fare option. This saved me $40, which I decided was worth the bother of rebooking, since it's so easy to do online.

To do this, does the price drop have to be on the exact same flight, or can you rebook with different flight times if they have become cheaper since you booked?

For example, if I booked a flight with departure time of 3:40pm and return time of 1:25pm for $139 each way and they now have a departure flight at 4:40pm and return time of 2:25pm for $99 each way, can I rebook with the lower price? If so, how do you go about doing it? I hope that makes sence!

Yes, I did it last month saving $240 (for 4), they credited my acct for future travel. There must be a flight available with the lower price. I called the 800# for assistance while I was online too, she directed me through it. I originally did one way at a time, return flight not available but I checked every day and finally it was. (Hint: check right after MN when the reservations on hold expire). Good luck.

The change is quite easily done online at http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/changeItinerary.html

As long as the flights are available you can change anything you want without extra charge (except if the flight is at a higher price).
