My fiancé and I want to do a Disney cruise for our honeymoon in May 2017. I love the Western Caribbean itinerary, but it looks like rooms are selling out quickly. He is in the process of trying to get into the state police, so we have been holding off on booking until we figure out what is happening there. If I book it and for some reason he cannot get off work, can I change his name's to someone else's (hate thinking about it, but don't want to waste a ton of money either)?

Yes. Once you get closer to the actual sail date, a change fee will apply.

2017 is still a ways off. You can book it now and pay only a deposit. Later you can decide to cancel outright or change names. You will be subject to a change or cancellation fee if you cancel within a certain amount of time, usually it is about 90 days, or whenever the Pay In Full Date is.

Anyone know what the name change fee is after PIF date? I have an upcoming Magic cruise on 12/13 which I booked on board last year. For the first and only time we didn't get insurance as it is just a 5 day cruise. Now my DM is having some medical issues and is having a procedure 4 days before the cruise. The doctor says she should be okay to travel, but We don't know if she will be up to it (she is 82 y.o.). If she can't go we may be able to bring someone else, but not sure what DCL will charge us. The price of the cruise has nearly doubled since I booked, so paying the current rate isn't an option.

May 2017 cruises aren't sold out, they've only been released for 2 ships and the Fantasy has a few weeks in late April/early May that are not on the schedule due to an expected dry dock.

PPs are correct that you can change the name. I think the fee is $50 if you are after PIF, but you might want to confirm that when you book so you are sure. However... you would seriously take someone else on your honeymoon cruise? I'd consider changing the date first. If the change is made early enough prior to PIF date, there is no penalty and the funds you have paid can be moved to a new date or even refunded fully (unless concierge). I'm going to guess that since your fiance is currently working on this possible career change, he'll definitely know whether the schedule will work well before early 2017 when PIF hits.

Congrats and enjoy your cruise!
