Changes to The Mummy- I don't like them!

Yes, there is fire in the treasure room but it is nowhere near a wall. You also don't go backwards in the treasure room. The room you go backwards in is the scarab room and there is no fire on the wall. There are torches in the false unload area which are still there but there is still no fire on the wall, just the ceiling.
I'm sorry, I didn't phrase that quite right. I didn't mean you went backwards in the treasure room and I didn't say that the fire was on the wall in the treasure room. It sounded like everyone was trying to say that there was no fire anywhere on the ride except for in the false exit area on the celing. Are the torches not lit in the false unload area? I could have sworn they were when I rode it and from viewing the video. I wasn't trying to say the wall was on fire, just that there was fire besides the ceiling. None of it really matters to me, except that I'm ready to ride it again....regardless!

Last year we went on it about 33 times while there only fire I saw was in the big room where it shoots up from the floor and the ceiling part mabey they are talking about the video fire ( video done not real) that goes across the wall in one part but it is not real tho??

There have been no changes. The fire has always been on the ceiling, never on the walls. Possibly, the animatronic of Imhotep was down when you went which happens from time to time. In that case they just use a projection for Imhotep. But it is usually only down for a short time.

As far as it being darker before, nothing has changed there either. Here's what happens, if you enter Mummy and get right on the ride, your eyes haven't adjusted to the dark yet and everything seems darker on the ride. If you wait in line a long time, your eyes have adjusted to the dark and you can see better so it looks lighter in there.

:scared1: Jeez! I thought they had changed it for real. Thanks Phantom :hyper:

We've been on the ride multitudes of times every year since it opened and have not seen those changes. We were there this March and didn't see any changes.

effect malfunctions are part of the ride. the only major changes I've noticed are the addition of the bars to the front row loading area and the on-ride announcement.

Joann from Ontario. You've got it bad. 33 times? holy craaaaaaap.
We rode the thing twice last week and had enough for another 2-3 years.
Did we miss something spectacular? :)

There have not been any changes since soft opening except the addition of the animatronics and also, the first couple of days during soft opening, you got wetter. That's it.

WETTER? I didn't know you got wet on this ride. We will be riding for the first time in October. Can you tell me how wet you get and when the wet part comes in?

Unless you sit on the first row, I doubt you'll even feel it. It is just a light spray. It happens in the false unload area when the glass breaks.

I thought that was supposed to be like blood dripping on you (or something like that)

Actually, it's supposed to be glass but I like the blood idea better.

You just feel tiny little drops, nothing to get worried over.

BUT, first day of soft opening, the water was on very high in the treasure room and my shirt/face got quite wet because of it. This effect has been turned waaaaay down now (and was right after that first day it soft opened)

Thanks all, I was thinking it was more like The Revenge of the Mummy River Adventure.

ewwwwwwwwwwww

I just got the courage up to ride it this trip... no likey the blood part... not going to think about it... :rolleyes1

I was disappointed in The Mummy this trip. There is no more fire room, which was great. I guess it is due to the high gas prices. It took a lot away from the excitement of the ride. It is not as fun as it used to be.

Actually there is still a fire room. They may have been having technical problems with it when you rode.

And even if the effect was turned off, it isn't something they can't simply turn back on.

Ok, I went on the Mummy last Friday, all effects were working GREAT!, and to answer the fire debate...I made sure to look and there are fire torches on the walls in the "fake unload" area, but that's it, only the ceiling actually catches on fire...the torches stay the same.

BTW, the fire on the ceiling gives me chills every time I see it...it's just so cool

Yeah, I rode Mummy on Saturday night, and my only beef was that the Animatronic Imhotep's mouth (first scene) wasn't moving at all. Small beef, but it bugged me. Otherwise, it was running great.
