They've always had armbands. It is so you can come and go.![]()
This is my hope as well. Going in a few weeks, so will report back if no one else does first. So if they are not doing same day reservations any more, does that mean that reserved guests can now just choose to go to the hub area to actually view the fireworks rather than remain at a table with not such a great view? If that is the case - you get a dessert table, can relax, but also are guaranteed the right to go to the hip viewing space - then I think that is kind of awesome. I would do this.
Yay, a victory for the common folkAccording to someone who was at MK last night, both old FP areas are now open to the public. So sounds like no more sane day ADRs.
I just called today and booked a Dessert Party for 10/1/2016 (a non-party night). They quoted me two prices to choose from when reserving - $79.00 for viewing from Tomorrowland Terrace, and $59 for viewing from the old FP+ location. I'm not sure if this is a permanent thing, or exactly when the shift will take place, but it looks like that area will be off limits once again at some point; this time for anyone who chooses that option at the time of reservation.
Yeah, we've been waiting for them to open up the party for our 10/1 visit since our 180 days opened up (we're now at 104 days), but the availability has been showing as ending on 9/28 for some time now. Price changes/options would definitely explain the delay......Interesting... I just searched for availability for a non-party night in late September and there is no location choice, but the adult price is $59.

I confirmed that that was for Saturyday, October 1st. Now, that IS Magic Kingdom's 45th Anniversary date, so I suppose there's a chance that may have something to do with the price - but I suspect this might be the new normal......$79 for a non party night?
Are you sure they didn't quote you the party night price by mistake?
That's just nuts.

There are differing opinions as to which is better. Tomorrowland Terrace is a bit "off to the side" of the castle, so the fireworks are not centered over the castle for the show, and the plaza garden is right in front off the castle.Which location did you book? Is one better than the other?
There were no viewing options when I booked the holiday dessert party, but I also booked online. Wondering if you need to call to get the garden viewing option? Having done both, I definitely prefer the view from the garden. Now, during parties, FP was never offered so the gardens were always open to the general public those nights. So moving may not be an option on party nights?I'm just reading this and am considering the Holiday Wishes dessert party but really would prefer the viewing at the plaza gardens... Anyone knows if the viewing is particularly in the tomorrowland terrace only?
Oh that's true... Makes me second guess my decision to do the dessert party since you can hardly see the castle projections from tomorrowland terrace and would not be such a good view for the 360degree fireworks either... CCxmas - Have you called Disney Dining, or just been looking online for the date you want?? I had to call for 10/1, it was still showing unavailable online.I'm going Nov 27-Dec 3 and the dates for the Dessert Party have not been released yet for non-party nights. Since booking on the 180 mark they have released "Wishes Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace." It has subsequently sold out. Any ideas when they will release the non-party night dessert party?!?
