Changes to list of prohibited items - no more toy weapons for pirate night

On the DCL website the Pirate League still lists a sword and sheath as among the accessories the kids get-wonder if this just hasn't been updated or if it will still be allowed as it is "purchased" on board?

That remains to be seen. Disney has announced that they will not be selling any "weapons" in their parks or onboard, so, IMO, they may remove those items in the packages. But, maybe not.

DCL website is notorious for not updating all locations on their site that may be affected when there are changes to things.

Was the back part of the sword soft/bendable? Did you wear that all night or change into it after dinner? I'm just wondering how you sat down for dinner?

The sword was not flexible at all and yes I wore it all night. When I walked into the MDR I was met with laughter from the dining staff. To eat dinner I had to turn the chair sideways so it wouldn't interfere with the sword protruding from my back. Eating dinner was a little awkward but I managed okay. I had so much fun wearing this costume.

I just got 2 light-up princessy pirate swords for my daughters for our summer cruise--guess they better be pirate princess for Halloween next year. LOL

We sailed on he Dream December 21-24, My grandchildren had the pirate package at BBB and both got swords.

Just got off the wonder and they were still selling pirate swords and "weapons" in the gift shop!

And, once again, what Disney says and what Disney does are 2 different things. Wonder if they're still allowing them in checked bags as before?
