Changes to Garden Grill and LTT

I was just told no lunch ADRs could be made at GG after Oct 5.

You are correct. I HAD a lunch ADR for Oct 22. I called, after reading a rumor on this board, and was told that in fact, I had to make a different ressie. They are no longer having lunch at GG after 10/5. Now I have to find a different place for lunch that day. We had specifically chosen that ressie, as Pluto is one of the characters. Pluto's one of DD's favorites. As far as I can tell, Pluto is not at any other lunches... If I missed one, please let me know!!

He's not at lunches, but he's at Liberty Tree for Dinner as well as Chef Mickeys for Breakfast and Dinner. There don't seem to be a lot of offerings for character lunches.

Luckly, I was able to switch Garden Grill with Princess Storybook Dinner, and move storybook to lunch.

Exactly. This was to be our "first" meal at the World. I was hoping to have it with one of DD's favorite characters. That's a plan down the drain now. Not sure where we'll end up for lunch. I have to look over the choices to find one we aren't already doing. We're going to be there for 10 days/nights, and I had all of my meal ressies already planned out.

That would solve every park dining plan I'd ever have, but they used to have one, and the problem was people would book it to get to Soarin' earlier. So unless they find away to keep it from happening as much. They used to offer a really cool ice cream social as well. A lot has changed at GG in the past few years and this announcement doesn't surprise me. Just slightly messed up my dining plans.

We have it booked for supper....the food there is good and so is the character interaction. Last year they came around 3-4 times while we ate and sat down with us...etc. Chip and Dale kept trying to feed my 4 year old son and Pluto begged for food LOL and had to be ran off by the waitress for begging.

Isn't the character interaction there great? Everytime I'm there I get a chipmunk or a mouse to try to take me away from BF. Even had Chip comb his eyebrows with a straw, and the food is really good too.

Can you do it for dinner instead? Will you still be at Epcot by dinnertime? If you already have a dinner ADR maybe you could swap the two?

I know we've seen Pluto at Chef Mickey's dinner, but that doesn't really help you. If it comes down to it you can always pop into the Character Connection at Epcot and meet him there without the meal.

While I would be happy to see a character breakfast come to Garden Grill, and I hope that's why they've decided to discontinue the lunch, I think it's really unfortunate they didn't make their decision prior to the 180 day ADR date for those going at that time period.

I'm glad I found this thread. I had an ADR for lunch on 10/30. I just called to change it. I would hate to have shown up and had nowhere to go!

I ended up switching to the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. Not only is this meal our first in the World, but it's my birthday also! There are really not a lot of character lunches offered at Disney. Characters seem to be more at breakfast, some a dinner and very few at lunch.

There aren't many character lunches.

Crystal Palace at MK -- Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet
Cinderella's Royal Table at MK -- Princesses
Chef Mickey's at the CR serves breakfast until 11:30 which could be considered an early lunch -- Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald
Hollywood and Vine at DHS -- JoJo, Goliath, June and Leo
Akershus at Epcot -- Princesses
1900 Park Fare at the GF serves breakfast until 11:30 which could be considered an early lunch -- Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins

I'm glad they're leaving this thread up. I posted the same thing yesterday and it was closed because this was a "rumor". I know there is a thread on the rumor board, but I never knew the rumor board existed until yesterday.

This may be the only way people find out that their GG lunch adr's after Oct. do not exist any more. I'm keeping my ADR just because I'm curious to find out if they'll ever call me.

I feel bad for the folks who don't find out until 2 weeks before their trip when there is nothing left to book.

I had a reservation for Teppan Edo last year and if it wasn't for these boards I wouldn't have know about the closure and changing ADRs. They never called me. I hope they do something to let people know. Especially those who booked CP.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think Pluto usually appears at the Stitch breakfast at the Poly? Perhaps you could do a late breakfast and count it as lunch?

I just made some changes to my dining on 6/24 and I have a ressie at Garden Grill for an 11:20 lunch. I changed the number of people in my party from 5 to 3 and they booked it for me. Maybe I should call???

This is true. I got conformation from a 2nd CRO person today. When I was calling to make a GG dinner reservation and move a dinner to a lunch.

I have a ressie for December! Am I not going to get a phone call or anything about this!?! I am supposed to eat lunch there. Man!!!

So, I guess I will call.... what would I do if I were not a Diser????

Pluto is at Ohanas breakfast. We ate there last month and he was there.
