Never say never my friend. Once long ago there supposedly plans for a tomorrowland speedway in HKDL with cars. I'm just more of the mindset that it's not a great fit for Tomorrowland.oh a retheme of tomorrowland speedway would never happen,i just think it'd be cool to drive the cars
The biggest surprise for me in this article is that the current Star Wars ride is not listed as safe. That can't be right can it?

They will move the Jedi academy inside possibly not the ride. The ride is already indoors. The ride is safe.rumor is it would get moved inside a building (i think with the gift shop). so it would still be there, just not in the same spot. Maybe they would upgrade it to episode 3 (3rd version, not necessarily based on actual episode 3)
Great point. However you can't tell me tho when you were young you didn't want to drive a car. This was your way of doing that. I've heard suggestions of theming it to tron, cars, or go to electric cars etc. all great ideas I just don't see it happening anytime soon if ever.I have to question what the speedway is doing in tomorrowland to start with..... In 71 it wasn't a thing of tomorrow, and it certainly isn't today.
Not to say I think a cars overlay would be a good idea either... just saying.
Speedway is my least favorite attraction in MK. It needs to just be bulldozed and utilize that area better. Wouldn't a WallE themed attraction be great, there is no Wall-E presence in the parks at all and imo WallE is the best Pixar movie.I have to question what the speedway is doing in tomorrowland to start with..... When I was 7 and first went to MK I was so excited to ride the cars and it was a big disappointment. I thought it would be cool gocarts and it was a snooze fest. My most recent experience consisted on half the ride some ignorant teens purposely bashing into their friends cars which in turn kept rear ending my car with my 6 year old. End rant...Great point. It should be a pretty simple transition to make it an indoors experience entirely. . .
The thing that doesn't make sense about the "we can't do Cars Land because of the Florida weather," is the fact Japan was getting pitched Cars Land too. Why the heck can Japan have RSRs and we can't? I think it's more likely a way to save money on rockwork instead.
Because Cars 3 is confirmed for release in the near future, John Lasseter has a strange adoration for Cars, and of course Cars sells a lot of merchandise. None of those factors are helping a Wreck it Ralph attraction. Additionally the teams that helped create Cars Land are still at Disney and that should (in theory) save money because they won't have to spend money on R&D and new story development. All the trial and error that went into creating the original will be skipped, and they can just focus on getting it built as quickly as possible. That's not to say it wont be better than DCA's. Almost every artist I've ever heard about had a long list of "I wish I could've done x differently." Because this will be RSRs 2, the artists will have another go at getting it closer to perfect. Besides all the above going for it, Cars is more popular than Wreck it Ralph.Instead of an interior version of RSR, why not an interior Wreck it Ralph car ride? It could resemble the area where Venelope trained.
