Changes to CP Narrators

We saw Monique Coleman last year and she did a fantastic job.

I know some people don't know her if they aren't into HSM (like my daughter who a HSM "groupie"), I probably wouldn't have known her either. But you will be very happy with her performance, and she was very well spoken!

It is sad the Gary Sinese isn't on the list this year. We saw him in 2002. He was amazing!

To all who are going to the CP this year have a great time!!!!

We will be seeing Steven Curtis Chapman, and I wasn't sure I wanted to see him because of what he went through this year! It just seems like it will be so, so sad. I am not sure how he can do it given their family tragedy...maybe it will be therapeutic for him.

We'll be seeing Marlee Matlin now on Dec. 11. This will be our first CP!!!:yay: I have to admit, my DD and I were excited because Monique Coleman was the original narrator that day. I've heard some wonderful things about Marlee Matlin though. Has anyone seen her before? :goodvibes

From what I've read about Chapman their family's faith is very strong and is probably what has gotten them through this year.....to go and proclaim that faith by reading of Jesus' birth would seem to fit right in with holding tight to your faith in times of trouble. Not to say it will be easy for him......after losing a child, I can assure you that nothing is easy, but you really have little choice but to find a way to keep going. And while all I wanted to do was sit in a dark room and sob, never to come out again......I, like Mr. Chapman, had other children that needed their parent more than their parent needed to turn off the hurt. I can't imagine how you get through this so publicly though...near and dear people's grief for me was almost too much to handle, can't imagine having the public's grief as well.

I'm not sure "I" would be able to hold it together as he read the story, knowing his experience. Kinda like how I can't listen to Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton without sobbing. Perhaps keeping up his tradition with the Candlelight performance is as cathartic to him as that song was for Clapton. :grouphug:

I would like to nominate Johnny Depp for the TBD dates. :thumbsup2

Oh I was sad to see Gary Sinese not on the list either - I saw him 2 years in a row and really enjoyed his narration.

We are trying to book a trip Nov 28 - Dec 8, so many choices of dates but I'm curious about Dec 1 - 3 as well. My grandparents would be coming if this trip goes forward and have never seen CP. Patti LaBelle was tentatively scheduled but I don't know how accurate that is at this time.

Nah, that wouldn't work any better than the screaming fans over the Jonas Brothers.....with Depp you'd have to have more time to clean the theatre between shows.....drool is not easy to clean ya know.
