My daughter, now 10, and I cruised on the Magic for a 3-day in 1999 and on the Wonder for a 4-day in January 2000. We (now including her 5 year-old sister) have booked a February 2006 7-day western on the Magic.

What changes are we likely to notice? Not the itinerary, but in things like decor, service, meals, activities? Are the kids' clubs much different? Is the Magic being maintained nicely? Will it be packed in early February? On our January cruise 5 years ago the ship was not nearly sold out, but it doesn't sound like that happens much anymore.

I can't specifically tell you any differeneces, but they are constantly maintaining the ships. They have been on a 2 year dry-dock schedule as well, when they do maintenance & major changes that they can't do while operating with guests. The Wonder/Magic both had the ESPN Zone replaced with a teen club last time they were dry docked. There still is a sports bar called Diversions on the Magic, not sure the name on the Wonder.
The Magic will be in dry-dock again, Oct 1 - 14, 2005. Have not heard of any changes that it may be receiving while in dry-dock.

Hello,
I noticed a few suttle changes. some would not affect you, but the teens area is now in the stack and the ESPN club has moved to one of the night clubs. They totally remodeled most of the mAGIC WHEN IT WENT TO DRYDOCK THE LAST TIME. aLL NEW CARPETING,FRESH PAINT, LOTS OF SUTTLE CHANGES IN THE DECOR OF THE CLUBS. They now have salt and pepper shakers on all the tables, and besides ice cream and fruit at Scoops they also have some finger sandwiches. They have changed the theme from a tropical deck party to a pirate dinner and party. They now offer pop at the drink station on deck 9. But the ship was beautiful, just like when it was brand new. Both ships look great. I have sailed on both in the last year and we are going on our 6th cruise next december on the magic and we have also booked back to back 7 day cruises for the following december. have a great time.

You'll definitely notice the 2 new shows since you've last cruised...

1) Golden Mickeys replaced Morty the Magician (C'est Magique)...prior to that, Voyage of the Ghost Ship

2) Hercules the Muse-ical is set to be replaced within the next month or so....
