Changes in Temperature & Humidity

I was wondering if anyone had advice for the changes experienced in the temperature and weather when travelling to WDW in the summer. Going from the cool dry room to the hot moist air, that is. I am looking for hints such as how long to wait before attempting photos, how to avoid the "hazy photos" when I really want that shot now. But most importantly, I would like warnings to prevent damage to my favorite material belonging, my Nikon D50. Thank you, I really appreciate the help.

i know they tell you to put the whole deal in a plastic ziploc baggie and let it acclimate when going from winter cold outside to warm inside but not sure the change in summer would be as great...my test would be does it fog your glasses/sunglasses? if not you probably wouldn't need to worry about it

i travel to hong kong and south east asia quite a bit and it's quite humid. going from the overly airconditioned rooms to outside fogs the outside lens element. i've found the ziplock bag method doesn't work too well in this case as the air is already humid. i generally turn down the aircon (or off if it isn't too bad).

one tip i discovered last year works perfectly - put my body (and any lenses i may want to use in the next 20 minutes) in a shirt and use the hair dryer to warm them up. it doesn't take long and you're not trying to heat the gear up very much, just enough to prevent the condensation to form.

another thing i'e found travelling in asia - buses are generally also air conditioned and will cause fogging, so when i'm on a bus i put the camera body close to mine to keep it from getting too cold.
i have even used the microwavable hot/cold gel pack (for aching muscles and back, etc.) heated and put it in my camera bag before i shot an early morning parade in hk. it worked pretty well.

I usually wait up to an hour if the temperature and humidity changes are drastic. It might be overkill, but it's been working. For Disney I find that it's not usually a concern because from the time we leave our room to the time that we get to the park where I'll be taking pictures it's sometimes over an hour depending on how busy it is.
