Changes in Park Operation Hours

How late has Disney made changes in park operation hours? The day before? 48 hours before? I am headed to MK on August 12 and have an 8 am breakfast reservation and the park is currently scheduled to open at 9. I made the reservation just for the purpose of getting into the park early, so I am wondering how long I have to be concerned that they might change the opening hour to 8 am.

1. Yup.
2. Yup.
3. Very UNlikely that they would add an hour at the TOP of the day at that time of year, anyway.
Very likely at the END of the day.
4. Don't sweat it.

There would be little purpose in adding an hour at the TOP of the day within only a few days in advance... few guests would get the word in time to use it.

END of day... that happens quite a bit, even day-of, as it is easy for guests to just stay longer.

I was there in June and Magic Kingdom was suppose to open at 9am both days I was going to be there. It opened at 8am. I had made my final plans 2 weeks before and it still said 9. The person who checked us in said there was some last minute hour adjustments so thankfully we knew.

When we've been there, we had the MK switch to opening an hour earlier (at 8 a.m.) a couple of times with just a day or two of notice. But this was during party season on a party day, so I think that had something to do with it. We've also been at DHS a couple of times when they announced an hour later closing the day of. I've never seen AK extended the week of, and Epcot's hours are pretty standard and don't change much.

I'm thinking they may extend the closing hours for late October/early Nov. I looked at last year's hours and on the weekend when it wasn't a MNSSHP night they were open until midnight with EMH to 2am on weekends. Right now the latest MK stays open during my visit is 10pm WITH EMH. Here's hoping!

I'm hoping they extend hours for August. I was surprised they haven't extended hours during the week yet. They only have extra evening hours during the weekend
