Changes in opening hours

I know Disney can change closing hours up until the day of, but what about opening hours? Our MK day is May 11 and scheduled to open at 9:00. If it changes to 8:00 I want to make sure I realize it. If I check the night before by 10 or 11:00, is it likely to change after that? I know that day will probably be crowded so I don't want to miss rope drop! Thanks.

I think it's rare for them to make an opening change at the last minute. They usually make closing changes last minute since it's easier to get CM's to stay later vs have them show up earlier.

If you are staying onsite keep an eye on the resort tv channel, I've read that changes to park hours can be seen there. You can also check park hours on MDE app on your phone if you have it.

I don't think they would change the hours after closing or in the middle of the night.

We'll be there that night for the last Wishes.

I think it was monday morning that suddenly many parks had EMH every day in the morning and some had more days added at night. some got more hours for everyone on top of that. they really expanded hours with the easter crowd overnight. The also did it last jan with about a week notice for many days in the start of the year with larger than expected NYE crowds.

I don't think they typically change the "officially posted" morning hours that last minute (the night before). You'd likely have a few days notice.

However, we have been to the parks on busy days when they let people in the gates much earlier than the officially posted hours (30 minutes +).

So, it might be a good idea to get there early even if the posted time remain at 9a.m.

I have had MK open at 8 on a day that I was expecting 9, and had a PPO (well, it was PPO when I made it lol) breakfast at Crystal Palace. As far as I know, that decision to open at 8 was made no more than 3 days ahead of time, and quite possibly only the day before.

The whole week and for more than 1 park. MK got an EMH for I think every morning opening it an hour earlier all week. Many of the nights also got a night EMH with 1 night (I think tonight) just getting later hours but a morning emh.. you'd have to look at the schedule right now but in the context of this thread, disney can do anything with no notice and does.

We will be in MK that day also! I subscribe to Kennythepirate's emails and he usually emails when there are changes to park hours. I know he sent an email a few days ago that park hours were extended that day til 11 pm.
