changes for eating at aulani

This is an indirect comment but I might suggest your BFF make sure her husband is registered as a guest even though he's going to come during some of the days. If he isn't registered, he won't be able to join them at the pools, activities, or even possibly in the room.

I think you are right that the dining requirements could possibly change by then. Hope you enjoy your stay at Aulani!
We have a 1 BR and I think the max is 5.
I was hoping to give him my moms band the 2 days he comes to hang out. She does not swim.
I was renting cabanas those days so chairs are not an issue. And I would give him my parking pass.
So frustrating
Thanks
Kerri

Yeah, you can't do that, if they find out that you gave someone else your band, they will kick you out. Plus it would be almost impossible to do since they put it on your wrist tight enough to have to be cut off. They won't just hand you one. Anyone lounging at the pool or using the beach chairs will need a wristband, not just in the pool. So unless your mom plans to stay in the room, she will need a wristband. Better to add him to your reservation. Same with the parking, it is connected to your room key and everyone that has access to the parking garage has to show their ID at check in. Aulani is pretty strict about these things, especially now with all of the regulations. He can go to the luau, but if he is not a registered guest, he can not use any of the resort facilities. Which is completely understandable. Imagine if everyone had a friend or family member do this. I know it seems like, "it's just one person", but it adds up. Aulani is expensive and resources are limited.

When I was there last week, I posted I had talked to the guide and he said the 48hr testers will get color coded wavy bands to designate days.

I’m on the waitlist for a 2BR island garden view. Then no room occupancy issues . Doubt I will get lucky it’s late in the game for Jan.

Picture is supposed to be fine but I wouldn't want to chance running into a shop owner or restaurant who gives you a hard time.

Does your state use VAMS or some other online database? If so, you could download and print that PDF to use as your "walking around" hard copy.

We just got back from 10 days.

Everything is driven by the Oahu mandate from Sept. 13. So a picture works everywhere just fine.

I can confirm its very well done at Disney. Show pic of card, get black band, and done for length of stay on property.

Disney also has a 2 desk station staffed in lobby, dedicated to dealing with the 48 hour test thing. QR codes and links all over for test locations ... We didn't have to use it but never saw more than one desk in use. ( Other than testing logistics, Disney has the intake dialed in )

We didn't find any place that wouldn't take the 48 hour test ( including Monkeypod).... They are all just following the mandate, so they all ask the same thing, pic/vax card or 48 hour test.

Honestly, my observation is like most things it only keeps the honest people honest. (Most places barely look at pic... ) I'm in no way advocating dishonest behavior... Just saying logistically, there's no way to validate other than good faith effort. I think I could have shown some places a note written in crayon and they would have accepted it.

Anyway, I think they are getting the desired effect. Crowds were not bad.

A photo of the front of the card is fine.
