Changes, Changes. Going from Jan 2-5 to Jan 1-5. Need advice

Well Merry Christmas to ALL!!!!!

Hope everyones holiday is going well. We just got done watching the Disney World parade on TV. We are leaving from Phoenix are on Jan 1. It is only a 6 hour drive. We are making a few stops along the way. So realistically 9 hours. But still will leave lots of time in the parks.

Okay so give me the good, the bad and the ugly. I am actually thinking DCA for new years day. Disney land for the next two and jumping back to DCA when the crowds become unbearable. How does this game plan sound?

I would start out in DL on the 1st, I have done it afew times in the past, and found the am not to be crowded, maybe switch to DCA for lunch and the rest of the day. Make sure to visit Small world early in your stay.
