Changes at BCV?

Inspired by the "Changes at OKW" thread ...

I you had in a say in the matter, what positive changes would you like see implimented at BCV? This could be anything from housekeeping, events, food service, entertainment, transportation, etc.

As already expressed in another thread, anyone (BCV owner or other DVC member or even non-DVC member) is welcome to comment since they may at some time consider staying there.

This could include improvements like larger rooms, closer parking, onsite restaurant, a front desk not shared with another resort, transportation to the main entrance of Epcot or any other amenity that anyone could ever possibly be remotely interested in adding- whether they would ever stay there or not.

Enjoy!

I would love to see a 24 hour snack shop at BCV/YC/BC....the type that CR, Polynesian and GF have always had.

Would also like better bus service to MK (as well as AK) and better boat service to MGM.....perhaps smaller boats at faster intervals. Not holding my breath though!

Good question, Doc. I'd like to see Beaches and Cream expanded so it can accomodate more than 10 people at a time.

I feel it needs another restaurant. It really only has Cape May. I don't know why Ariels closed. Also, Beaches and Cream does need to be bigger.

I would like to see less stops when taking the bus to MK and AK. I think that I read that this was in the works (?) or had been implemented (?). Here's hoping it happens.

I'd like to see a direct path from the BCV over to the International Gateway Entrance...Wouldn't that be cool?

LOL! I agree, because we often walk out of Epcot specifically to go there! :D

Great suggestions. if we're dreaming, better views from the rooms. An nice BCV dedicated kids play area would be great, t's really missing. Tennis courts would be nice. More comfortable fold out couches. Oh, I know THREE BEDROOM VILLAS!!! That's one of the biggest improvements BCV needs. How about an observation area on the top of BCV only for BCV guests to observe illuminations at night. Faster boats in the marina. A quick way to be shuttled to the Epcot monorail so you could take it all the way to the MK. I agree with another restaraunt that is not fish based. The BCV pool should have been "0" entry. Move the road so it is not so close. Provide a nice access to the pool that doesn't require going through the lobby (although I really don't mind). Better bus access, maybe substituting light rail as a transportation method. A second slide at SAB, since the current one gets pretty crowded. Fix the jet bubble area so it is working again. Expand SAB to make more room for BC, YC, and BCV guests. Perhaps that's another attached pool area to the east or west of the SAB area with a great slide so there is more room and it doesn't get so crowded. The kids play area is greatly in need of improvement, the BC playground is a sad site for Disney. While were at it, make the rooms bigger. Provide tented serviced areas that are reserved for guests like they do at the Hard Rock Hotel pool. Jet ski rentals? Expand beaches and cream for larger parties. Better game room area. Create a members only loft in BCV for DVC members staying at BCV on points. Improve Atlantic Dance and that area of the boardwalk, perhaps the adventurers club atmosphere would be great. High speed internet access (already there?) Create a community hall area with games and activities for kids. Scheduled activities like movie night and teen night like other DVC resorts. Just some thoughts.

Notice how easy it is to talk about potiential improvements for each of the DVC resorts? No need to get too defensive, it's OK to dream and say "what if".

We only just bought DVC and have not stayed at a DVC property yet but we have stayed at The Beach Club (hotel not villas) 3 times, each time for 2 weeks.

We love the theme, location, pool everything except the limited food options. We would love Beaches and Cream to be extended and it would be great if there was a food court type area like at many of the other Disney resorts. The refillable mug programme doesn't work well at Beach Club because you always have to queue behind people placing food orders just to get to get a soda.

I know people will say you have loads of eating choices at Yacht Club, Boardwalk and EPCOT but I would love to see a little more choice at the resort itself. In fact just extending Beaches and Cream would do the job. It is a great place but way too small for such a big resort.

Just my thoughts...

WOW Desperado!!! What a list!! I'm impressed!

3 Bedroom Villa's!!!! That was my only regret with buying BCV, no villas. :(

Fix the problem with the dedicated 2 bdrm's having a pull out sofa in the 2nd bdrm!!

Make the pull out sofas better!!

and I agree with more seating for casual eating (beaches and cream or other)

Definitely need either a larger Beaches & Cream or a snack bar area like at Poly, etc. and a community hall with games which would be especially nice for rainy days.

I agree with Desperado, I love the kids activity night.
I would like more restaurant choices.
A game room that gives the prizes when you win them.(My son got jipped 3 prizes that would not fall out of the machines.)
More comfortable pull out sofas.

I TOTALLY AGREE....that place is really popular and it has no room!!

As for other changes I would say add Grand Villas, and I do wish the rooms were bigger :teeth:

I agree another dining option located closer to BCV would be a great idea. I even have a good spot for it, convert the gift shop/store closest to BCV into a casual restaurant with take out. This would be very convenient for the guests staying in the villas or those using the BCV quiet pool.
Bathroom vanities that have more storage would also be nice.

I would expand the gift shop so that it has more food items. I would convert the Solarium into a breakfast area for members with coffee, juice, and muffins. And I would FOR SURE enlarge Beaches and Cream into the useless area right next door in the old Ariel's, which has stood empty for two years, except when they have large groups like GM employees. That's not only wasteful, it's dumb. Why would you turn away business rather than enlarge a restaurant? I would change the prep area in Beaches and Cream, too. I would also get rid of that huge arcade, and build it in a designated kids area, which would give Beaches and Cream even MORE space, and it would give the rest of the world some peace and quiet while we are eating. Can you tell that Beaches and Cream really bugs me??

It should be easy to expand Beaches and Cream by taking out some of the room in the arcade. The arcade at OKW is very small, the one at BCV is big and could be made smaller.

:smooth:

I really love BCV, so I would only suggest a few.

I would like to see an expansion and add on more villas.

I would also like newer villas to have bigger balconies. Some now are fine, others are small.

Or the arcade relocated. Bet it's a pretty good money maker witnessing all the coins being dropped.

I second the idea for Disney to follow through and put the new sofa beds in all the villas with the memory foam to replace the spring mattresses. That's definitely doable!

Wow, I'm really surprised that the transportation hasn't been mentioned more. I'd love to see BCV's bus shared with fewer resorts than at present. Also, I'd love to see some type of community hall type arrangement like OKW and BWV have.
