We just changed our March trip to a January trip. We have gone before in Feb. but never Jan. What are the crowds like? We will arrive on 1/24 (MLK day is 1/16). I am going to guess that crowds will be low. I hope we don't need our parkas :rotfl: But really I know it can be cool --- but how cool we are hoping to get away from the frozen tundra of northern Illinois.

We changed because I just could not see jumping from the value rates to peak rates. We are not going to stay AKL savanna view instead of POR.

We went in Jan 04 and had a wonderful time! Little to no lines and beautiful weater. I think it was high 70 -80's everyday. Living in SC I can say that you never know about the weater. One day it might snow and the next it might be 70. One thing I can promise is that it will probably be a lot warmer than IL!! :) The parks may close a little sooner but I don't think it really makes that much difference because their are less people so it takes less time to see everything. We always just made plans to eat after the park closed that way we could take advantage of all the park time. I am sure you will have a great TRIP!!

I said Jan would be the only time I would go back after the last time but we are going in Sept for the free dining plan and I am dreading the hot weather already.

We have been the past 2 January's. (Last week/first week Feb.) My husband will no longer plan a trip any other time of the year. We swam 4 or 5 days, the parks were virtually empty and life was grand! Will be there again next 1/21 for 2 weeks. Can't wait!

One year in seven (approximately) it was abusively cold. Other than that, it's been a wonderful time to visit.

We went in January 2004, right after New Year's. It was excellent. There was almost no crowd, we never waited for anything for than 15 minuteds, busses were easy. It got a bit chilly at night, but nothing too cold (considering we're from NH, it was pretty nice)

We'll definitely go back in the winter again. We went in June, and it was too hot for us!

Have a great time!

We going Jan. 2006 too (21 - 30th). Even though I have never been in Jan. before, we went for the first time in late Nov./early Dec. this past trip and the shorter hours were not a problem. We saw so much even with the shorter hours because of the lines being so short. The only bad thing is I am an overpacker anyway, and now I have to pack for summer weather and winter weather just in case! My DH is going to be thrilled! :teeth:

Now all we have to do is hope Disney keeps the free dining going. Or better yet how about 7 for 4 deal :cool1:

I will be on my Disneymoon Jan. 22-Feb. 4!! It will be my first time at that time of year. Changed it from the first two weeks in January since more schools are going back on the 9th than in the past. I have experienced low crowds before (early December) but my fiance hasn't. I am looking forward to showing him what it's like in value season!! :flower:
