... a wise choice? Last year we took the kids out of school for a week and since 2 of them are in high school, it was VERY hard for them to make it up. Yes, we had recieved all the assignments ahead of time, but the lectures and quizes missed really hurt their grades. That being said, DD told me that the first week in May they are really not doing much because the next week starts reviews for finals. I have panic attacks in large crowds so summer or holidays are NOT an option. We had pondered with the first 10 days in June, but I am still woprried about the crowds then. Soooo, back to my question, how is the first week in May? Thanks a bunch ::MinnieMo

I think it would be a good time to go. Springs breaks are in March and April and kids start getting out of school end of May-middle of June so sounds like a good time. We went in June this year, May 29-June 12. Our first week was fine but the second week you could see quite an increase in the crowds--we didnt really enjoy that. We are spoiled by off season visits and not used to waitng in line 45min-1 hour.

I've been there the first week of May a couple of times and it was good. Weather wasn't too, too hot and crowds weren't bad. Good luck with your decision and have a WONDERFUL time!

We're planning on going the first week of May next year, too. We usually go in January or the beginning of February, so I tend to be spoiled when it comes to small crowds. I, too, was worried that it would be a lot more crowded, but from everything I've read here on the DIS, it seems to be a good time to go. A plus for us is that this time we may finally get to go to a water park!

We went this year first week in May. Weather was perfect. Low 80's and no humidity. Didn't even break a sweat, so we stayed in the parks all day and night.

Crowds were light except for Magic Kingdom on Spectro day Tuesday (avoid it during day, just go after dinner) - did fast pass a few times but other than that, didn't wait more than 20 minutes for anything.

Go for it, and have fun!!!
