Changed our ressies - not "camping" in Dec.

Instead, we are staying in a FW cabin!! This is a big splurge for us! We were looking into another resort but nothing felt like 'home'.

Do you have a favorite cabin loop? I was looking at the map at thought 2100 looked good. Is that close enough to walk to the marina? (we normally stay in loop 200, right in the front...we got spoiled ). What things should I bring from home? I know DH, he would have me pack the entire camper if he had his way. Do people decorate the outside of the cabins at Christmas time like we always did for the camper??

If its in your budget and I recommend a golf cart. With all the walking you do at Disney its gonna be a pretty long walk to the lake area from ANY cabin group. I recommend asking for the most recently renovated cabins. Some are newer than others. Bus transportation in the morning and afternoon is pretty good, but middle of the day can have you waiting at any FT w bus stop.
The cabins are fully stocked: Dishes, forks, cook ware, hair dryer, loads of towels (talk about luxury! I use LOTS of towels )

The one thing that does cost a lot of money is food/beverages. The outpost is completely price gouging on many items and theres a severe lack of fresh produce compared to the outpost goods they offered years ago.

What most peeps do is go to either PUBLIX (very, very clean Florida grocier) or Walmart and get drinks/foods. Also if you drink beer/spirits they charge for a small bottle what a big bottle in a regular store cost.
They have a complete kitchen and outdoor grill area. Unless you hate to cook you can really save some money making an occasional meal in the cabins. For example we always grill steaks out one night. Way better than spending $30 plus for one steak at a disney restraunt. We eat out once a day at Disney usually so its nice to be able to make smaller meals or a snack at the cabin.

Ours has always been Cedar Circle (2600 I think?) It is the one closest to the smaller pool, has a bus stop at the end of the loop, and the laundry is located there too (it's adjacent to the pool locker room building). Have stayed there multiple times as a kid growing up, and have since stayed there w/ DS, DH and his family.

We stayed there over Christmas one year when I was in college w/ my parents. We decorated inside & out, even brought our own table top tree & set it up on the table! Of course, it was decorated exclusively w/ Disney ornaments we bought there our first day of that trip. Those ornaments were then brought home, taken out each year since. As we grew & moved out, Mom sent the ornaments we had picked out that trip along to our new homes.

We also decorated our golf cart w/ a Christmas Mickey wind sock and gold garland...would've had lights too if Dad had figured it out....we were a little over the top (still all are too!).

That was absolutely one of my most memorable trips!

Cedar Circle is the 2500 loop. We love that loop. It is one of the smaller loops, next to the pool and the laundry. Very convenient. If you can swing the golf cart, I'd say go for it. The cabins are a long way from the marina and the carts make it so easy. Have a great time!
