Changed flight time question

NW changed our flight time in Jan and it is now later than planned but on the same day..........................would they allow me to change to flying home a day earlier without penalty? I will call asap but just wondering if anyone knows?

I don't know about NW but I just got off the phone with Delta..The agent was wonderful!
I asked if and what charges would I have if I changed my flight days and times..She said of course the 50.00 on Delta Express for all 3 tickets=150 plus the difference of the fares about 134.00 each, but if I took a flight out at 11am that same day instead of 5:00pm no charge! Because my daughter has school the next day, I thought arriving home earlier would work better for us, instead of getting in a 8:30 and driving another 1 1/2 hours till we got home..
Of course she thought she'd miss another day of school..sorry honey!!
Right now I think all the airlines will work with you..Best of Luck

If flight time is changed significantly or cancelled, you may make a case that it is your choice as to whether the replacment flight is sooner or later with no change fee, although it is their choice as to how much sooner or how much later based just on flight sold out conditions.

You do not get a free hotel room if their choice was on the same day but your choice was the day after.

It really depends on who you talk to. They wanted to change my flight from early evening to lunch time (which in effect took that day away from my vacation). I continued to call and state my case and after 2 or 3 calls, they agreed to book my flight for the next day and pay my extra day's rental car charges.
