Although dealing with the target pharmacy is very inconvenient, because the hours are terrible, they frequently make mistakes, and they are twenty minutes away I have been using them for over a year because if that extra 5%. Since disney cards are merchandise you can use your red card to save 5% and your pharmacy rewards card to save an extra 5%. Yesterday for the first time ever the extra 5% did not come off of the gift card. More than likely I am assuming that they made changes to the system so there is no longer a discount on gift cards. I am wondering, however, if the cashier has something to do with it. She was awful. She was confused by clearance labels and free gift cards during the transaction. Then 3/4 of the way through she hit a button and deleted the entire transaction, so we had to start over (and I had a full basket). Does anyone know if the rules have changed. The last time I bought a gift card was about three months ago. Please only respond if you use the pharmacy rewards card to get a discount on disney gift cards at target. Thank you.

The policy changed near the end of March/beginning of April. There were several posts from Target employees and family members of employees noting the policy change. Wondering how long it will be before they do away with the 5% Red Card discount too.

Bummer :(. I just got the Red Card and have 4/5 refills on my Pharmacy Rewards.

So bummed to learn this today the hard way. I still got my 5% red card discount but not the Pharmacy RX reward.

Target is a very expensive pharmacy. You can save much more than 5% by going to Sams or Costco which are the cheapest places in town. Yes you have to walk in,but my Sams club pharmacy is awesome. I would never go anywhere else. Conveince comes at a big price esp when they are doing things wrong and not meeting customer satisfaction.

My pharmacy program switched to Target this year and I have to say I've been disappointed. The people behind the counter at my local Target pharmacy are very nice, but something gets screwed up just about every time I go for a refill. Either they don't have enough of something to fill my 3 months refill or they say it will be an hour to fill and then I come back in 2 hours and it's still not ready. I can't understand not having enough of a very common drug on hand to fill a 3-month prescription. I think they're understaffed, which is probably most of the problem.

I think the Target pharmacy is all about location and who is working. My pharmacy is awesome. Never an issue. Pharmacist knows me by face.

My insurance only lets me go to pharmacy for non-maintenance drugs. I have to do mail order for everything else. So it took me a long time to earn my rewards just to lose out on this little perk.

Oh well.

My Target pharmacy is super convenient for me and the pharmacy clerk greets me by name even though I'm only in there once a month. I didn't learn about using the pharmacy rewards on Disney Gift cards until last summer. We were able to take advantage of it to purchase $2,400 in gift cards that we used towards our trip last December. Once Target closed that loophole I put my next rewards certificate up on ebay and it sold in less than 24 hours for $90. My most recent rewards certificate sold in 12 hours for $50. The proceeds from those auctions sits in my PayPal account awaiting our September Disneyland trip.
