So today I've received emails from Thomas Cook to say both our inbound and outbound flights via LGW and MCO are being altered time-wise. The inbound flight is half an hour earlier which I can deal with but I am very frustrated that our inbound flight has been pushed back from 10:15 to 12:10! In the email it says that the scheduled times were subject to change so I'm guessing there's nothing we can do-as in there's no point protesting! Sorry, think I just needed to vent! Also I do appreciate that two hours is two hours but that now pretty much quashes any evening plans we had. Is this quite commonplace?!

Yes, it is pretty common for flight times to change. Usually, if flights aren't filling up as they expect, they will cancel one flight and push people onto a later (or earlier) flight.

Yes, it is common for flight times to change. However, it is completely untrue that flights are cancelled when they aren't "filling up as they expect." There are always lots of last minute flyers and the flights need to go as scheduled because planes need to be repositioned for other flights.
