Okay, I could swear when I booked our res and dining plan the online DDP brochure said you get one QS meal (Burger/fry combo type and drink) with no mention of dessert and for TS it did not list appetizer as included for lunch/dinner. Now if you look on the online DDP brochure it says QS includes meal, drink, dessert and TS includes appetizer, entree, dessert and drink. Anyone know for sure which is correct? Am I crazy?

I think you're looking at 2 different brochures. There's actually a couple different dining plans, Quick Service, Basic or Regular, and Deluxe. Which do you have?

Nope, I double checked...made sure I clicked on the regular dining plan, not deluxe.

I see what you are looking at. Hmmm. Usually only kids get appetizers at TS restaurants on the regular dining plan but the current brochure online definitely doesn't show that distinction. Interesting.

It definitely says appetiser too on the table service.

That would make me (and DH) soooo happy. Please tell me it's true!

I'm pretty sure QS has always included dessert while I've been looking, except at breakfast. TS definitely did not include an appetizer. If it does now, I will be so happy.

I just checked out the brochures online and it appears they have added appetizers back to the basic dining plan and not just the deluxe...I am sooo doing the happy dance

Ooooohhhhhh, I'll be there in 10 days and this would certainly save me some cash. I do enjoy appetisers before my main course and tend to buy them but if I can get them with the DDP, all the better.

As I posted in the other thread about this topic, Disney marketing is now considering the bread and water brought to your table an appetizer. :rotfl:

Just joking. It has to be a mistake, right?

there is no appetizer on the regular dining plan

That has always been the case in recent years....
But out of curiosity, I pulled up the 2012 guide from the WDW site...it DOES indeed list appetizer as well as entree and dessert as part of the regular DDP TS meal!
Either they have changed it, or this is a typo....but this is what they are advertising. I think if you print this up and take it with you, they must honor it.

Eta... Looking at the FAQ, they still tell you that you may not substitute an appetizer or salad for your dessert entitlement. This leads me to believe that the appetizer reference is a typo, ut I think they still need to honor it. People book the DDP thinking it is included.
I for one, only did DDP once...specifically because I am not a dessert person and had to pay extra
for an appetizer...which negated and cost benefit to the program for me. I have TIW now, but if I didn't, I might do DDP again if I was told an appetizer was included.
Signature dining still does not list appetizer.

We're here now and in most cases an appetizer is not included with the regular dining plan. Some restaurants have a Pris-fixe menu which you can get on the dining plan that does allow you to get an appetizer.

As for QS dessert is included.

As for printing the brochure and bringing it with you, I wouldn't. There is no guarantee they'll honor it and why upset yourself and whomever you deal with every time you have to pull it out? Mistakes happen...

I sent them an email. Could be that the wait staff isn't properly updated.
Mistakes do happen... but this is the end of April...it should have been corrected by now. And if people booked DDP believing they would get an appetizer because Disney told them that...they should honor it.
I will report back when they respond.

Saw this too...must be a typo but you would think they would have pulled it by now:confused3:confused3 Please let us know what you find out. Thanks!

Printing it and taking it with you to get the appetizer won't do you any good if they didn't intend to include appetizers. Language on the first page states that locations and components are subject to change. Best case is that you would be able to your money back without penalty to drop the dining plan from your reservation.

Disney Dining Plan
With your Disney Dining Plan, for each night of your package, each Guest in your party (ages 3 and up) receives:

1 Table-Service Meal
Each (adult or child) table-service meal includes:

1 entrée
1 dessert (lunch and dinner only)
1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage
Or

1 full buffet
1 Quick-Service Meal
Each quick-service meal includes:

1 entrée or 1 complete combo meal
1 dessert (lunch and dinner only)
1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage
1 Snack

Don't get too happy. I'm betting this is a mistake as I can see no reason for Disney to delete the appetizer from the deluxe plan, but offer it with the regular plan.

I think if you print this up and take it with you, they must honor it.

This is not the case. If it is a mistake (and I bet it is) they are not legally required to honor it. You can argue that they should honor it in the interest of satisfying the customer, but they do not have to honor it.

This thread is being merged with an identical one posted on the dining plan board.
