So we are traveling in Aug, and have a Resort Package booked and payed for staying at the POP. All or our FP+'s are made, as well as our ADR's.

As a suprise to my family I was going to try and switch the resort to a Moderate or Deluxe, (we stayed at WL before and LOVED it).

When I was online looking into this, a chat box came up, so I asked if made a change to my resort would that effect any of the FP's or ADR.

She informed me that we would indeed lose all of our already booked FP+'s, (our ADR's would be ok).

Just wanted to verify this, we have both A&E, and 7DMT so I am really hesitant to give them up.

yikes! I have no direct knowledge of this, but that would stink if you lost them! I wonder if it would make a difference if you wait until you are within 30 days of your trip? I would think Disney would have a way to do this for you, since it would be more money in their pocket.

You won't lose your FP+ reservations...
unless there is a GLITCH.

And, regardless of what you are trying to do... there is very often a GLITCH.

Maybe because its the whole not within 30 days when they cancel your first res?

Could you add the other hotel first and then cancel your original after that? It might bridge that gap if there is a system in place to cancel FP+ times when canceling a hotel when less than 30 days out?

I made major changes yesterday to my August stay, dropping one resort completely & moving dates and length of stay for the other 2.

My TA was awesome, he & the CM he worked with worked their magic and all my FP+s were still in my MDE account untouched when the dust finally settled.

FWIW.. my agent told me afterward that the first CM he spoke to told him I'd not only lose FPs - but my park tickets which were purchased back in February before the price went up in March, would be lost & I would need to pay the new price for my tickets.

He hung up & called back 5 minutes later, different CM - different outcome.
Park tickets intact.. FP intact.. ADRs also just fine (as expected since they are not attached to a resort package or RO)

Some CMs are truly working with the best interest of the Customer at heart.. others (perhaps less experienced or having an "off day) not so much.

I can also testify that you don't HAVE to lose your FP+ if you get a CM that knows what he/she is doing ;)
We switched our room-only (ASMU) reservation made on Expedia to a free dining package (Pop) last week, and didn't lose the FP+ that we had made the week before that, at our 60 day mark. The CM that made the new package ressie, after doing the actual reservation, transferred me to the MDE IT support in order to make sure my FP+ reservations would be linked to my new package instead of the previous room-only. The IT CM was very helpful and made sure everything was in order (I believe she had to make a copy of my FP to "link" them to the new package). I then had to contact Expedia to cancel my previous room-only ressie, which was very easy. After a couple of days, that reservation disappeared from MDE (I could see both hotel reservations for a few days until then) but the FP+ remained! It all worked out very well :)

This is making me very nervous. We are doing a split stay. First 2 days at AKL with 7 day tix. All the FP are on this ressie. Then we switch to CR for 5 days room only. I know we will have to have 2 sets of MB, But please tell me my last 5 days of FP won't disappear when we move over to CR. Anyone done this yet??

They'll be just fine.

The issue YOU have, and the issue that the OP has are actually quite dissimilar.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like the thing to do is call, and not try to make the change myself online.
