Change our CRT reservation from 4 to 3?

We have a lunch reservation for CRT. It was originally going to be 4 of us, but now it will only be 3. Do you think I can change the ressie to 3 without giving it up?

You might not be able to switch it to 3 as the reservation system is a little strange...they seem to have a certain number of tables set aside for 4 and a certain number set aside for 3...even though the tables are the same size and you give up your 4 they may still show no availability for 3.

My suggestion would be just leaving the ADR as is. We had to do this on our trip in August. DH had to leave Disney early due to work so I figured I would just absorb the cost since I couldn't get an ADR for 3.

When I got to the podium the day of our ADR I told them that due to unforseen circumstances we would be 3 rather than 4. They were fine with it and seated us quickly...then shortly after we were seated the waiter came up to me and said that he was sorry the "king" couldn't join his queen and 2 princesses and he handed my a gift card for the value of DH's prepaid meal. He appologized that he couldn't credit our cc account and hoped that the gift card would be sufficient. Needless to say I was pleased with that as I had expected to absorb the cost if necessary.
