Okay, so I have a 8:05 Garden Grill Bkfst on Sunday April 9th. Opening time for Epcot that day says 9 am. Is there any chance that could change this late to 8 am? I;m really hoping not, because that would seriously mess up my plans. :worship:

I'd be less worried about a change in opening time and more concerned with the fact that guests will be let into the park by 8:40 or 8:45 for a 9 a.m. opening, leaving you little time for your meal if you want a head start on any attractions.

Agree with above poster. I wouldn't be super worried about an 8:00 opening at Epcot. I would make sure that if I wanted a head start on some ride (assuming Soarin') that I cut breakfast pretty short to get to that line before guests are (inevitably) let in at 8:40 or so.

Note that for this exact reason (and likely in my opinion, this is the exact reason why Disney now lets guests in early) I don't advise getting PPO ADR's in order to get a head start on a ride line. It is an expensive meal, and should be enjoyed, not rushed through in order to get a jump on the rope drop crowd, at least in my opinion.

We do have PPO breakfast reservations, but we go expecting that we will be a bit behind the rope drop crowd, and plan our day accordingly, with the most popular rides getting FP+, and hitting some of the less popular rides right after breakfast, when most of the crowds are mobbing the big stuff.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with some of the PPs! :-)

Other than EMH or a crazy holiday, Disney doesn't really tinker with the standard 9am Epcot opening. It's not like MK which does get moved around at times. Epcot is pretty set.

Second, while they do usually open the gates at 8:40-8-45ish for a 9am opening, they usually hold folks at a further point in the park until closer to 8:50/8:55ish. Then they let people go.

I have done several PPO GG ADRs and every time we've 1) had a great charachter breakfast which was a lot of fun, and 2) finished up in time to get my "head start" on the day (note, this may vary depending on what you want to do). Granted I do make it a point to eat, pay, and get going quickly, but it can be easily done.

Just my perspective!

when was last you did this as I have been reading about people being let in earlier more often.

Just got back from Disney yesterday. On Monday we had a 8 am PPO breakfast at Garden Grill. It was great. We got our food quickly and we didn't rush the character interactions. We were done in plenty of time to walk to Soarin (probably stopped at the bathroom too). We were second in line for Soarin. They let us in probably about 8:55.
