Yesterday was DDs fall soccer try-outs when they see who's playing and on what team they'll be on. In the past, there have always been tons of girls - so much that they've either added a new team or had to cut a few girls.

Yesterday, they barely had enough girls to field one team. Seems that a lot of the girls are going to do cheerleading instead. Now, I have no problems with cheerleading, I'm just kind of surprised that so many girls are giving up soccer which they've always been really into. I guess it's good that they're trying something new but I have to admit, I was really surprised at the big change in these girls. They go to middle school next year and I guess it's the beginning of many changes, some more surprising than others. My DD still loves soccer and will be missing her teammates next year.

My niece is entering High School next year and giving up softball because of all the coaching from her Dad(some unwanted perhaps). She is always the best pitcher and I know my sis was sort of hoping for college scholarship money in 4 years-and she is just so darn great, it kills me to see her give it up. (sigh)

Change, kasar, as you said, can be tough at times. Best wishes for your daughter.
