I had to ask multiple times for more shampoo ect and my state room host was not as good as my last cruise.
I would have had a nice little chat with her boss long before the last day and I would've given her a fair and honest review!!! And also, done as you did and adjusted her tip accordingly. Not providing clean towels daily is absolutely NOT acceptable!!!Not only did our SR hostess not replace our soaps and lotions, there were a few days she did not replace towels either...and we were not on DND or anything like that. We left our room at 7am for an excursion and did not get back to the room until 5pm. She made the beds, took the old towels and did not replace them. This happened 3 or 4 times on our 14 night cruise. Needless to say, it was the first time we have ever reduced a gratuity on board.
She also did not deliver our pirate night bandanas until the morning after pirate night, after we had been to guest services to inquire about them. She told us that if we wanted our ice refreshed daily, we needed to call room service. On the last day, she was super sweet to us and told us we needed to make sure she got a good review on the card so she could maintain her job with DCL. My mind was blown!
Actually why don't you try talking to the senior officers instead of making assumptions. The hotel mgr I spoke with (Lloyd) said that they they EXPECT the stateroom host to replace the toiletries DAILY in each room!!! They ALLOT for that! It is built in. So if they aren't replacing daily, they aren't doing their job.Perhaps a small deal, but I strongly disagree. Our cruise fare pays for soaps we need during the cruise, and Disney should keep us well stock with what we need. But hiding unused ones so you'll get more is very easy to rationalize but wrong. Not much in the big scheme of things, but unfortunately Disney has to do many things because of guests who abuse the system. How many people openly bragged here about taking wine they brought on board into the lounges or putting drinks in cups to walk around despite Disney's stated restrictions (in the cabin only). Thus the new alcohol policy.
It's a two-way street. Disney needs to treat us fairly and keep their side of the bargain, we owe them the same courtesy. Arranging to get more shampoo than we need on the trip so we can take a stash home is wrong. That's why you have to hide it so they'll leave more each day.
But, I guess it is a common practice, and everyone who does it wants to think it's okay, so it's okay. Bigger fish to fry on this board in discussions.
When senior staff came to the cabin to assist the kids, appearantly there were a few too many liquor bottles sitting around that hadn't been purchased onboard.
@MunFam How long after your cruise did you get a call about your comments? Just wondering how long it takes them to read all the comments. Thanks.Oh, I did. DCL actually called me and had about an hour long chat...because we also had food issues on board. They ended up offering us a 25% off a future sailing coupon. I doubt we will have time to use it, but it was a nice gesture.

And there were a lot of decisions as to the alcohol policy change. At the Castaway reception we attended, the CD told us a stories about various incidents.... where they had kids that did not get picked up from the kid's club because the parents were too drunk in their cabin to come claim them and another time where kids called panicked because they could not wake their parents and the parents were passed out. When senior staff came to the cabin to assist the kids, appearantly there were a few too many liquor bottles sitting around. So check your assumptions with senior staff first. They tend to be in the know!!![]()

Well we will have to agree to disagree on this one, because we have seen people cut off!! We have seen them get a senior officer involved and told they would need to settle down or return to their stateroom. We've seen lots of drunks on a number of DCL cruises on the pool deck and NOT from liquor they brought on board but from the drinks DCL happily kept supplying them regardless of their intoxicated condition.
It may help if pax expressed their intentions / desires with the Stateroom Host at some point after the first day (evening would work) into said sailing, indicating they would love and appreciate some extras to take home if possible. And be specific about which product you desire.
We often communicate with our SH with notes. We write notes, ... he writes notes. lol. Life is good.
That has always worked for us.
May your product sustain you till the next sailing.
Now of course if the daily replenishments are missing or inadequate, than make a call.
It will be taken care of aboard.
