Change in Plans

Had originally planned a trip in October for 16 year old son and myself to just get away for a few days (to do the teenage stuff.) Now I must change the time of year. Am looking at either week before Christmas or the week following New Year's. Any suggestions? Prefer the less crowded times of year.
