We have a trip planned for next month for 12 of us in a grand villa at OKW, we booked the regular dining plan. One of us can't go now. Is it possible to get a refund for the part prepaid for their dining plan?

Yes, you need to call and drop the guest off of the reservation. You'll get a refund on their tickets and their DP.

If you are within 45 days of arrival there will be a $50 change fee, but they will just take it off the top of what you get back so you won't have to actually pay it with a fresh transaction.

We're DVC and don't get tickets as part of the room package-deal, but we did pre-pay for everyone's dining plan.

I called member services and they said as long as we called at least 48 hours prior to arrival they could change the reservation and give me a refund on my card at check in. They did not mention a change fee.

I don't think DVC points stays are subject to that change fee, as that's more a WDTC package thing. As the DVC rep stated, you have until 48 hours from check-in (note: this is only for DVC points stays!) to make any modifications to the dining plan (add, cancel, up/downgrade, change the # of people).

For WDTC packages, this is 72 hours, and may be subject to fees after 45 days from check-in.

Does this fee apply to adding a +1?

No - if your price increases you wouldn't get a change fee of $50, but within 14 days I believe you'd get a $15 document printing charge or something.

OP - didn't see anything about DVC in your original post? But yes, if you are DVC you wouldn't be subject to the fee and can just drop. :thumbsup2

The fee does not apply to DVC, nor does any seasonal price adjustments. If you have reservations for 12, no need to change them, you won't be charged if you're party is smaller for CC guarantee locations. The only issue would be for option where you actually have to prepay like MNSSHP or a dinner show. You do have to call 48 hours out and MS has to be open.
