Change in EE policy?

I was reading on another site that DLR has changed it's EE policy regarding staying at an onsite hotel.

It said that DLR will no longer honor the early entrance to Disneyland if you are staying at one of the on site hotels, UNLESS you buy your tickets directly from them.

Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? :confused3

I'm hoping that this isn't true. If it is, then AP holders will have no way to get early entry.

What site?

Trusted member, new member? Speaking from experience, or what they heard?

Well. One person reporting, and reporting that they called back and got the same answer. Fairly specific info, though she didn't say who she was calling (the hotel itself? WDTC?). And of course this was only info on a phone, not at the front desk while checking in.

I think I'll wait to see someone reporting it actually happening when the check in.

Who wants to be the guinea pig? :)

Well this is has been my exact question about magic mornings because it seems that with even a Disney resort package, you are allotted only one Magic Morning entry. I am trying to decide between a resort-only booking and a package and can't seem to get a definitive answer on Magic Mornings for resort guests.

I looked at my reservation and we booked it all thru disney except our tickets as we had bought AP's on our final day of our last trip. It says on the site that EE magic mornings were only valid on 3 day+ park hoppers. So we got that toon town crap still(sorry doesn't give me a thrill I'm old with no kids) but no more EE. That is dumb, hello we are paying tons to stay onsite,AND getting that AP last time made the decision easier to come back AGAIN for our 3rd trip in one year. Won't be buying another AP I guess:confused3

We never buy tickets because of our AP's, but we often do an overnight on property. This is one of the reasons we spend the extra to stay onsite -EE. I'll be really bummed if true! :sad1:

We just got back from the PPH. We were told that we had MM each morning it was offered because we stayed on-site. We just had to show our charge slip from the hotel.

We went last week, stayed at GCH. We booked a 5-for-3 day parkhopper package through Costco in February. We were able to use both MMs during our stay.

Ya I wouldn't trust that source. MC is much less reliable than this site IMO and I have always found that so. They do have great photo updates though.

So until further notice...

nothing has changed.

I agree with DLR, and since we have some recent visitors to the DLR properties with accurate first-hand information, I'd stay it's status quo.

You say "it seems that". Are you referring to the information given during the process of ordering a package? If so, see below

The information in the reservation and online has never, as far as I know, have heard, or experienced, shown that you have access to all MMs. That information is beyond useless for this purpose.

Even though my package information, and conversations with the very nice people at WDTC who are NOT on-site and do NOT work at the hotels, never ever once indicated I would get more than one MM (then EE), lo and behold at check-in, the Paradise Pier Hotel CM gave me a lovely sheet of paper that stated quite clearly that we would get all the EEs available, and she even stated verbally what days that meant for our stay.

:)

When my mom called disney and booked our trip. (we are staying onsite at PP)
The lady on the other end wouldn't specifiy if we got MM each day it was offered. And my mom explained that we had in times prior with the charge slip. The lady wouldn't say yay or nay.. But I'm assuming we do.

We were at the Grand Californian the week before Easter and was told about MM at check in.

We went last week, stayed at GCH. We booked a 5-for-3 day parkhopper package through Costco in February. We were able to use both MMs during our stay.

We went last week as well. No issues getting in for EE on both days during our stay - even though our tickets were technically only for one. The GC daily sheet clearly stated all hotel guests were eligible.

Bumbershoot - I used 'it seems' because of confusion stemming from various board discussions. If you go to the AAA travel website or to disneyland.com it clearly states that you are only entitled to one MM with a 3+ day hopper. However, once you start querying boards, travel agents, central res etc. the answers start to vary. I would have hoped that Disney resort guests would get some extra perk for the big $$$. :sad2:

It was never something they really advertised to begin with. I never even knew about it until this board! *We* asked at check in the first time we did it to confirm we got all the MM days by staying there, and that's when they told us about the perk.

On our last stay we were told at check in. I'd be surprised if they changed it, but who knows!

Thanks to DisneyMom, Avalon, Carole, CarrieAnn & everyone else for confirming information as of the past 2 weeks.

As other Diser's (who are staying on site) visit DLR in the next month, I hope they will post back their experience with:

- Mulitple MM (EE) for stays onsite.
- MM (EE) availability for AP pass holders who stay on-site.

DLR has always been coy with the info on multiple MM for onsite guests. & DLR travel folks have historically given mixed &/or wrong info. So like Bumber, Jen & DangerMouse (& others).....I'll believe it when i read about it first hand from a Dis'er here.

The laser quick & laser accurate info delivered here is one of many reasons why ..... :disrocks:

Thanks in advance, guys.

(Wondering if alot of the DiserGirlsTrippers are staying onsite....Man, can you imagine the DisRiot that will take place...when 20-30 ladies with their PP room receipt in one hand & their AP in the other hand....& are denied access for MM...& they have an 8:05am date with Peter Pan & Hook?? :scared1:)

:lmao:

No worries, Hound. The majority of the Ladies are staying at the HoJo. We got the most excellent ent. rate, of course! ;)

I sure hope this isn't true. I wonder what's the reason behind it? Is early entry just getting too crowded? How can the Disney hotels justify charging more and more every year while cutting perks? :confused3 At some point will their occupancy drop?
