Is anyone out there going to change their travel dates now that Disney announced free dining thru 12/17/09? I know a lot of people are going during the original August-September free dining and wonder how many will switch to the later date to go to Food and Wine Festival, MVMCP, or just to be there when the parks are decorated for X-mas. Any thoughts?

We'll be at PoP during the same date range! I did consider changing our dates, but did'nt because we got all the ADR's we wanted, cheap airfare, and time off from work without any problems. It would have been nice though for the cooler weather, and Holiday decorations. Upgrading the dining from QS would have only cost us $240,which would have been ok. I think we better leave well enough alone!:goodvibes Have a GREAT trip!!!!:thumbsup2

I was going Dec 12-18th to deliberately AVOID free dining this year...so NO I already changed from Sept to December back in Jan. SO I am stuck with it

Well, I booked my stay at BWV for Aug 16-21 about 11 months ago...long before fd came out. I was not happy to have fd offered for that time period. Then, I booked Nov 29-Dec 4 at BWV...and yet again, Disney offered the fd!!! So...what do I do?? Extend my Dec trip to Dec 11 with free dining...at least I get to see my old Dec buddies that way!!

I wonder if Disney did not get the number of bookings they expected for the Free dining in August and September? I think that is why they exteded it a few more months. I also think a lot of people took advantage of the book 4 get 3 free deal that was earlier in the year (which I think is a better value) and decided not to go during free dining. I guess crowd levels will be the judge of that come September. I'm still hoping for low crowds before Food and Wine starts.

I was going to ask this exact same question. We are booked for Sept and have always gone in Sept. I have always WANTED to go and see the Christmas decorations though so I have been attempting to convince dh to lets switch our dates to Nov or Dec so we can see what that time of year is like. He is not as excited over the idea though... ;) He just loves all the Halloween stuff at Disney and enjoying MNSSHP so I can't quite convince him. I would think the cooler weather would make it SOOOO worth it...haha

I have been in early December and it was beautiful with the holiday decorations and festivities. We went to MVMCP, which was ok, I probably would not go again. My favorite was the Candelight Processional at EPCOT. I'm thinking next year we will be going right after Thanksgiving so we can enjoy the holidays there again.

As you can see in my signature, I switched. I did get all the ADRs I wanted for September, but hopefully I can get them for December now. I don't particularly enjoy the Halloween decorations at Disney World or the heat of September. I've always wanted to see the Christmas decorations and the cooler weather is a bonus. When they sent me a pin with regular dining for free, I was sold and was able to convince DH! :thumbsup2 I just hope the crowds aren't too bad!
