Change at 7mth from OKW to AK?

I am so happy - just received a transfer of points from another member (THANK YOU) from OKW (3/11 use year) and was able to book my parents the 11/5-12 week that we are also vacationing. However, my immediate family is actually staying at Kidani (our home resort) that week, and I am hoping to change my parents over to Kidani on April 5 when the 7 month window hits. The savannah view studio that we want is available currently (but not for the OKW points I have to use).

What do you think the chances are of getting the AK res we actually want on April 5? (we transferred in enough points to cover the complete AK res, so the OKW res is "using" 78 points at the moment with an additional 38 left over).

2nd question - any recommendations on how to request the units be near each other (assuming we are able to make the resort change)? We have a std view 2BR requested close to lobby area on pool side - so I suspect best case is for the units to be across hall. Do they "link" the reservations somehow?

First time we have done a transfer - and I have to say it was extremely easy. In less than 24 hrs both members have all transactions complete with just a couple of phone calls. Thanks again!

It's been said here that if you register as a Grand Gathering, for 8 people or more, they do make an effort to get rooms near each other. It did work for me when I booked 5 villas, a 2 bedroom and 4 studios.

At other times, I've asked villas to be near each other and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

Since others will likely be changing resorts at the same 7 month window, I think you'll have a fair shot at getting what you want. We have always had great luck getting units close to each other when we have requested.

What do you have booked at AKV? If it's a 1 bedroom, you might be able to snare a 2 bedroom lock off for your parents. It would be less points than a 1 bedroom plus a studio.

I already have a 2BR lock-off reserved (dedicated was not available-but I am waitlisted for that option) as we have 2 adults & 4 kids in our family. I offered to have parents stay with us as the unit will easily accommodate all 8 of us, but they really felt that they wanted to pay for the points to have their own space. Thanks!
