Wondering if anyone has had any luck coming off of the waitlist for the first week in January. We're waiting for either one night at SSR to complete our stay, or (bigger wish) all 4 nights to open up at BWV. Have a 1bdrm booked at SSR for 3 nights, but willing to take 1 or 2 bdrm - any view - at BWV. Staying the 4th - 8th. Anyone else had any luck or heard news as to how long the waitlist is?
Thanks for any info you may have.

if you absolutely need that first night - just make a reservation at anywhere - wdw resorts or other dvc resorts to get it.

hard to tell - but won't give up hope - just remember that although most wait list are filled at the 31 day time (before the points go in holding) - a few times it has been at less than 5 days.

We have booked the Dolphin for the first night - have SPG points to use for that night so it's free - but would really like to be at one place for the whole (too short) stay.

Another question - was hoping to use Magical Express - don't want the expense of a rental car. Will Magical Express transport us to Dolphin if we need to do first night there? Also - the Disney site doesn't list it, but I thought I'd seen on the boards that Disney resorts do check-in for Southwest - am I wrong?

Thanks to everyone for all the silly questions you answer!

Magical Express doesn't go to the Swan or the Dolphin. As far as I know, Southwest is not one of the airlines that you can do the check-in for. Sorry.:sad1:

I just made it off hold with DVC - and no - Magical Express doesn't deliver to Swan/Dolphin. They did, however, have a 1 bedroom available at OKW - so I booked that for the first night. Still hoping for waitlist to stay all at one - but this is better than the original plan.
Thanks for the info!

I am going to Disney Jan. 3-7th. I am still waiting for one more nite at the Beach Club. I have the 3rd. not the 4th. I hope it comes thru. I'm not sure what I will do, I really don't want to change resorts for one nite and then have to come back. :upsidedow

Ok - I think we are set now. Still hoping for the waitlist -but have a better situation if it doesn't work out.
Called to check about Magical Express - MS confirmed no delivery to Swolphin - BUT - there was a 1 bdrm available at OKW for the first night. So, we took the night at OKW for first night, Magical Express will deliver there - that's taken care of.
Booked flights today - decided to use Delta miles this time - so we can check in at the hotel - that problem taken care of as well.

Still really hoping for waitlist to come thru. Just would rather not take the time to move from OKW to SSR. Can anyone tell me what their experience has been with moving resorts? How long does it typically take to check out of one, get to the other and check in there? How do you usually do it - do you go first thing in the morning knowing your room probably won't be ready?
For the OKW - SSR transfer, what's the best way to get from one to the other? Thinking I may do a cab to speed things up - but would love to hear from others.
Thanks so much!

Grabing a cab is the best way to go. If you let the hotels move your luggage it could be a while before you get it. We did a transfer first thing in the moring. We brought our own luggage and were very lucky that our room was ready. And if it's not at least all of your belongings are there, you can go off to a park enjoy the day and know your room will be waiting for you.

Thank you for your help - as always you all have talked me through my planning worries. Called today to arrange Magical Express. MS person told me it would take an extra minute because I had two reservations and two different resorts. I replied "well, if my waitlist has come through, we can fix that." Quiet for a moment on the other end and TA-DA! "I see a match!"
So - now we have all 4 nights at SSR! No need to move after one night.
I am very happy - this will make things so much easier.
(Still have one set of toes crossed in hopes of getting Boardwalk for all 4 nights - but that will just be icing on the cake...)
Thanks again all!
