Chances of Waitlist success at Christmas

We have been back from BCV for two weeks and my husband finally agreed that we should try to visit again in December to see the Christmas decorations. That being said I called today and had to waitlist for a one bedroom at VWL for December 4 - December 10th. Anyone with experience with the Christmas waitlist that can give me some hope that we might get to make this trip!

Have you thought about waitlisting for all of the resorts? Is VWL really the deal-breaker for you? You could always take a trip over to VWL to check out the decorations if you are forced to take another resort.

Do you have another DVC resort booked and are waitlisted for VWL or is nothing available? This is a very busy time at DVC resorts with members due to the lower pts and the resorts/park holiday events and decorations. During the holidays, VWL is truely the most magical DVC resort, so is therefore hard to get into. I would book whichever resort you can get into and waitlist for VWL. If nothing is available then you should waitlist for all the DVC resorts and hope for the best. I think one of the DVC resorts will become available for you but VWL is going to be tough for this time period.

Last we we had a 2BR-Standard at BWV waitlisted on November 30-December 6 that came through...

(We also hedged our bet though and also booked a 2BR-Preferred just in case...)

Thanks for the replies. VWL was the only way I could convince my husband to go in December. It is our home resort and we don't stay there as often as he would like!
