I am going down on 10/20-10/27. What do you think my chances are for catching a soft opening of the new Stitch ride? Honestly..

Well ... there's a WDI "family only" preview on October 15, so it's possible that they might do a couple of guest tests that week, but it's not likely that there will be a full "soft opening" (as in, the ride is open all day, just not announced). More likely, it would be one of those, "it was open ten minutes ago, but now it's not" type of things.

Best bet is to ask at Guest Relations when you enter the park, and ask a CM every time you walk by.

Grand Opening is slated for November 16.

That's my birthday. Maybe I can get my family to take me up for the day! :earsgirl:

We are eagerly awaiting this new ride. My son's favorite ride was alien encounter :space: and we can't wait to experience Stitch!

OK, logistical question:
If Stitch is open for AP holders Nov 5-6 (don't quote me on those dates) and the grand opening is Nov 16th, will it be open the whole time in between? We'll be there Nov 8-12 and would love to give it a go! ::yes::

They should continue with "soft openings" during the tim ethat you're there. I will now return to being bitter about missing the AP previews by a week. I also missed the AP previews for Mickey's Philharmagic by a week. Ugh!

I asked a similar question on another thread but I think it may be buried by now. I also asked a second question... anyone have any idea what this means for CoP and Timekeeper? I've read on these posts that they're closing when Stitch opens. Will be there 11/11-13 and would be thrilled to be able to see Stitch, CoP and Timekeeper!

According to www.wdwmagic.com they were supposed to start soft openings today, although I haven't seen whether they actually did or not as of this writing.

Cheers

Current rumor is that Timekeeper will close (probably forever) when Stitch opens. Since Timekeeper is currently "seasonal" and Stitch will be open before the Thanksgiving holiday, Timekeeper may already be a goner.

CoP reportedly has received a stay of execution. In fact, MousePlanet.com reported that CoP will remain open through early 2006 as a tie-in with the DisneyLand 50th celebration. That site even went so far as to report that WDW sunk a few dollars into CoP recently to spruce it up a bit.

This is probably a stupid question, but what is a WDI "family only"
preview?
Thanks!

"WDI Family" previews are literally just that. Immediate family of the WDI folks who have worked on the attraction, as well as any support folks at WDI and their immediate families. They can't bring friends or extended family -- it's immediate family only.

I thought I read somewhere that even though Timekeeper is "seasonal" it's open now and will close when Stitch opens? I've also seen conflicting things about CoP. I've seen what you mentioned, but I also saw somewhere that it will close for a major rehab.
