Chances of room upgrade for Loew's member during Spring Break?

I'm staying at the RPR March 29th and 30th. I'm a Loew's member and was wondering if I have any chance of getting a free upgrade during Spring Break?

I'm not really counting on it, but has anyone else ever gotten it?

I was there during Spring Break last year, and the hotel was sold out, so no upgrade.


Your chances will depend on how busy it is, what level of Loews you are, and what kind of discount you used to book the room.

we are there 3/23 to 3/28 and i know they are sold out. i was also hoping for a upgrade, no such luck i guess

It never hurts to ask upon arrival. If it's sold out, it's sold out but you won't know for sure until you get there. We received an upgrade last year on Spring Break but then again our Spring Break was several weeks before Easter and it was not as busy a time.

If you want an upgrade you should try and get it when you book. You will have to pay a higher "qualifying" rate but you will have a better chance of better room/suite catgory being available. Most of the time the hotels are sold out or all the suites and water/bay/pool/deluxe rooms are unavailable. Chances are that during spring break there will be no upgrades for Loews First members at check-in.

I just got off the telephone with RPR as I call every few days shopping for a better rate for 3/21 - 3/23/05. He told me he was showing a blackout for any upgrades with the Loew's membership during those dates. Also no AP discounts! Barbara

With the much smaller discounts available on rooms this spring, there maybe a slightly better chance for an upgrade. Based on the discussions here by people who have cancelled the hotel plans due to cost, one would think that the hotels would be nearly empty (Not!).

Interesting post about blacked out benefit dates. I went looking on thier site and it now has specific black out dates posted:
