Chances of getting room request at CSR

Hey everyone,

As you may or may not know, Piglet203 and I will be arriving at the Coronado Springs in just 2 days(3 if you count today). We originally requested Cabanas 8B or 9A, but I just called the front desk at the CSR and changed the request to Cabanas 8A or 8B. What do you think our chances are of having our request fulfilled? The CM told me they would do what they could. It's not too big of a deal if we don't get what we requested, but it would be nice. Tell me what you think. I know it's going to be busy this weekend, since it's a holiday, so I'm not expeceting the request to be fulfilled. Thanks for sharing.

When visiting CSR 2 weeks ago, I had request 8a or 9b when making the reservation. A couple of days before, I faxed a requested a 1st floor corner room. ( As you will see when you get there, many rooms are on a corner). What we got was 8a first floor, on a corner. As a bonus it was facing the lake, and we were quite literally the closest room, by a couple of steps, to the dig site. It was perfect. The only drawback was it was a little bit of a hike from the parking lot.

That was our first visit, so I have no experience with a holiday.

Well, I would say that your chances are pretty good! I have not gone during Memorial Day weekend, but I always go during the peak summer season and have always gotten my room request (non smoking, specific builiding, specific floor--whatever!) Plus, you don't seem to have too much specific criteria--you are just asking for a room in 8A or 8B, so I think that will help you. Enjoy your trip! I hope you and/or Piglet203 will post a report about CSR when you come back! My boyfriend and I will be staying there for the first time in August and we love to read reviews on the resort.

I don't know if you are a smoker or not, but I stayed in 9A last year and it was smoking. We had requested non-smoking and connecting rooms. We were thrilled when our connecting rooms were ready at 8:30am, when we got to the rooms we were surprised they were smoking. We kept them and had an ionizer delivered, but the smell never left and we were sorry we didn't request a switch. Have a great time!

I hope you get your request Mickey76. I think all WDW resorts try to do there best at accommodating their guests. If you get any of the cabana buildings I think you'll be happy. 9b doesn't look to bad now that bus stop 1 has been moved to that side of El Centro. I may try that one next time.

Are you checking in early or late?......I would think the earlier the better. But then again, if you're checking in really late, they might be out of rooms and put you in one of those suites.....now wouldn't that be sweet.

Seriously, as anxious as you two have been, they could put you two in the futhest Rancho building and you would still have a blast! Full details when you and Piglet get back, okay. Well, maybe not FULL details.......

Jennymouse, We'll be arriving early. Our flight into Orlando arrives at about 9:40, so I imagine once we get off the plane, get our luggage, and get the Mears shuttle, we'll be at the Coronado Springs by 11 or 11:30. I hope that increases our chances of getting the section we want. However, you're right when you say that if we get a room in the Ranchos or, any other section, we're still going to have a great time. The whole resort is beautiful. I'm so excited right now, I'm ready to burst. We'll let you and everyone know what we thought of the resort when we get back.

We were there Pre-Easter week and checked in early (8:30 am). We requested non-smoking with first choices in 9A or 9B. We got 8B which we were very happy with. Close to Dig Site, nice walk to El Centro, and maybe 50 yards from Bus Stop #4. We could also park our car right outside our room. We had not sent in an earlier request, just asked at check-in.
