Chances of getting into HHIR for Spring Break

Grettings! I am a new owner (and new to this site). We own at AKV, but would like to get into HHIR for Spring Break in 2015. To get a feel for availability, i looked at Spring Break 2014 availability, and there were almost no consecutive days. Can anyone advise as to the liklihood of getting into HHIR for Spring Break at the 7 month mark? Thanks in advance!

it depends when your spring break is. If it is the week before Easter--slim chance, week after, slightly better. Earlier in March or later in April, much better odds. You have a better chance with any dates by trying to book the Friday before your spring break starts. Points are higher and a lot of folks depart on Friday b/c of that, so you might be able to snag the reservation doing that. There are many more 2BR than 1BR or studios. good luck! Elaine

In 2011, we were able to book a 1BR at HHI for 5 nights starting on Easter Sunday without waitlisting. I called at EXACTLY 8am on the day our 7-month window opened.

We bought an add-on at HHI so that we could get that 1BR for the first week of April every three years. In 2013, we decided to take my parents along and so we needed a 2BR. I booked 4 nights on points and 2 nights on cash at the 11-month window. At the 7-month window, I forgot to set my alarm and waited until noon. I wanted to book one of our cash nights on points using some of my AKV points. Unfortunately, the 2BR's were already booked. I ended up waitlisting the 2BR for Easter Sunday and it eventually came through after about 3 months.

I think I might have seen you there if it was 2011. I was sitting in Big Murgie's Den waiting for DH to return from the Heritage golf classic when I saw some people checking in to a 1 BR.

I am hoping to get there in 2015, but we will only have enough points for a studio. I'm not sure if I am willing to do 5 nights in a studio at HHI since we spend so much time in our room. We usually only eat out once or twice and I cook all of our meals in the room. This will be a huge challenge in a studio...no pizzas, cookies, or anything else we make in the oven. In 2016, we are doing another extended family trip to WDW so that pushes our next HHI vacation all the way to 2017! It seems so long to wait! I love that resort.
