Chances of getting in at 'Ohana w/o ADR at opening?

I messed up and made our 'Ohana dinner ADR for this coming Friday instead of for Thursday. Of course, 'Ohana is totally booked so I can't change my ADR. We are a party of 4. Is there any chance of getting a table on Thursday evening if we go to the restaurant prior to opening and ask about tables available for walkups? I figure they don't hold any tables for walkups but am hoping to hear from others who may know for sure.

About 4 yrs ago we were able to do this but we were a party of two, with no kids, and didn't mind the 90min wait. Plus, it was later in the evening. I don't think it would be possible now...Ohanas seems more popular then ever.

I've read reports that people without ADRs might line up around 4:30pm, and people with ADRs are often waiting past their ADR time just to get to the podium to check in. So it may be a zoo if you try it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but you should be prepared for that contingency.

Call for an ADR the night before (Thursday around 5 pm) for Friday dinner ADR.
People cancel and are polite to call in their cancellations.

We were able to get a Cindy breakfast for the next moring, when we called the day before. This was during Easter week - a very busy time of the year.
People cancel to get their deposit back, so we were able to get an ADR.

When we called for Cindy's for the next day - we said any available time for breakfast is fine for us, party of 4.

So if you are not picky on your 'Ohana dinner time - just do what we did and I bet you will get an ADR.
Beware - dinner hours are 5:00pm to 10:00pm, so you may end up with 5 pm
or 9 pm.

PP is correct in saying people line up at 4:30 to see if a table is available.

We have seen this many times as we wait for our table. Most of the time the people are turned away, but 1 time I did hear the hostess telling people it would be a 2-3 hour wait.

It may be worth it, but personally I wouldn't waste 3 hours waiting for a table....that is precious WDW time. Even though I do love Ohana!!

I've read if you get there right when they open for dinner you might have a chance of getting a table.

Unfortunately, if it's anything thing like the past few trips we have had, you won't have much luck I'm afraid. People with ressies usually show up 30-45 mins early to make sure they get in on time. In my opinion, I would make a ressie for another restaurant for about 6pm, head to Ohana for 430 and see if you can get in. If they say no way, just head to your backup restaurant for 6. If they say ok, call up Disney and cancel your backup ressie.

I would get another reservation at a different restaurant just in case, since it will probably be really busy. Doesn't hurt to try though - if it doesn't work out, you can just go to your back up reservation!
