chances of getting a treehouse?

1. what are the odds of getting a treehouse at the 7 month mark?
2. can we reserve kidani then switch to treehouses so if we cant get treehouses we can get kidani?
3. can we buy treehouses then switch to points.

depending on the time of year, you MIGHT get lucky...but they book up quickly...a wiatlist may be your best bet

No. Book at your home resort in something that you would be happy with, then try to switch at 7 months. That is the only way, and the most fair to all your fellow members as well.

Since there are only 60 of the popular Treehouses, it is wise to book your home resort at the 11 month window and then try at the 7 month window for the Treehouse. If they are not available, then by all means, get on the wait list. You never know.

The THV is the only resort have not been able tog et at the 7 month mark and I travel off peak times, unfortunately their small number makes it very difficult!

We are SSR owners. I booked in December 09 for November 10 at SSR. We are staying on November 6 (Saturday) taking the 4 night cruise and returning Thursday til Sunday. I was booked in the Treehouse for Saturday night and had been put on the wait list for the return balance of our trip. It happens that we were lucky and put in for the remainder of our stay. The wait list definitely worked for us. Can't wait to go in November!

Another possibility might be buy the points from another member who owns at SSR and have them transfer them into your account. You could then use them to book a Treehouse at the 11 month window

Edited to add: I see that you are planning to go next June, so it may be too late to try this unless you are going later in the month... in which case you would have to act fast!

Only 60 total Treehouses and so far, only 30 of them are available for points. The other 30 still belong to the developer and are available to cash guests.

It's very hard to get one at any time and they have been especially popular during the summer months.

I was able to get in at the 7 month mark but I am going at the end of September and had to do a split stay to get into the THV at all. So we are doing AKV for the first 2 nights and THV for the last 3 nights. HTH

Go to the Rent/Trade Board http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29&order=desc&page=2 and first read the stickies at the top.

You would be looking for a transfer where another DVC member transfers a certain number of their points that they won't be using from their account into your account for a fee, somewhere around $10 a point usually. You can do it one of two ways... either respond to posts from members who have points to transfer or post your own "point transfer needed" thread.

Remember the points must be SSR and they must be good for making a reservation for June/July 2011... you don't want points which will expire before then. BTW, transferred points can be banked.

I did this when BLT opened... I don't own there... so that I could take advantage of the 11 month booking window... worked perfectly. Transferred points will always retain their home resort and use year.

Defiantly get on the waitlist. We wait listed at the 7 month mark for july 6-9,2010...btw they are awesome. and we got one 6 months out.
