Hello

We really would like to try and get a 2 week Hawaii Exchange but the kicker is we would like to stay in the same location/room for the 2 weeks.

Is this possible? I really don't want to have to swtich rooms.

I prefer Maui and like the Embassy, Westin and Marriott.

When I called MS, they said we would have to accept one week exchange if it came through and wait for the 2nd week.

This really is taking a chance in my book. Is there no 2 week exchanges????

It really sounds great when you listen to the DVC tour about exchanging for II however the reality it seems is not all its cracked up to be.

Am I missing something???

This would be an extremely tough trade. The Maui Marriott is one of the harder properties to trade into, even for a Marriott owner, who have a 21 day priority window. MVCI HI owners as a whole tend to use their weeks, and if they deposit, they usually deposit late. Can't comment on the Embassy and Westin owners.

Using any exchange requires flexibility on the part of the timeshare owner. I love trading my other unit but I'm quite flexible about when and where I'll make a trade. Disney'll get you a lot of things but it is probably better to be flexible if you must make an exchange than to be as specific as you seem to be. A better bet for you would be to rent out the points and pay cash for a trip to HI.

And no there are no two week exchanges in II.

The only way to guarantee the same unit and resort would be either to get a fixed week/unit timeshare for 2 weeks or to rent something as one set where you are guaranteed, like a condo rental. No II trade will guarantee the same unit though if you get the right resort for consecutive weeks, you would still have a good chance of success. One of the problems is that if you put in to get the 2 weeks together (which you can do), your chances of success become essentially zero. If you take one week, no guarantee you'd get the second week at all.

If it's that important, rent out your points and go find exactly what fits your needs.

We have two weeks booked for next year, but I was very flexible in both dates and a little flexible for resorts. Plus I didn't want to stay on the same island for both weeks. I booked one week through DVC and then posted on the TUG my desire for the 2nd week. We are staying one week on Oahu at the Hilton Hawaiian Village via TUG trade and then a week on Hawaii at the Kona Coast via DVC trade.
