Best place to see the sun rise?

Hi everyone! Does anyone have recommendations for the best place to watch the sunrise in Disney world? We are staying at Saratoga, but will have a car and could drive elsewhere for the best view! Thanks!

Interesting question, drove me to the maps! WDW is pretty flat and wooded, no high spots or places to view the horizon that I can think of. Unfortunately the parking lots at the theme parks won’t be open that early, nor will the garages at Disney Springs, so I can’t think of a wide-open place for you. And at that time of day you probably won’t be able to access Ft.Wilderness to get to Bay Lake or any of the resorts on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

However, since you’ll be at SSR, you might consider the bridge that crosses from The Springs (capital letter D on the map linked below) to The Paddock (capital letter E). Walk to the center of it and look east, and you should have a nice view of the sun rising above the trees and buildings in that direction. I can’t guarantee that there won’t be any high rises in the distance, sorry!

Hopefully someone else will come up with a location I haven’t thought of!

Funny you mentioned, DW and I are having breakfast in the Club Level at the Wilderness Lodge and it happens that the three tables that are on the side have a lovely view of the hotel waterfall and the lake behind, plus you can enjoy the sunrise through the window and it's spectacular. The resort also has balconies that I believe are publicly accessible on the floor below which would make for a great spot!

I was going to say nothing really beats those sunrises over Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake but getting over there early enough as a non MK resort area guest is probably not going to happen unfortunately. But tbh that’s half of why we actually enjoy getting up super early for rope dropping. Crescent Lake too, to a lesser extent. It’s one of those intangibles that’s hard to explain, how beautiful and serene it is that time of morning.

Staying at SSR the Springs section (preferred) The map Carolyn Supplied the rooms in section 4101-44436 rooms with a Balcony facing east on a high floor should offer a good view. Carolyn also mentioned the bridge to Paddock which also has a great view from the center.
If I had to take a guess at better views... BLT high floor but far better would be top of the world CR should offer similar on high floors. WL has few that directly face East but you can look to the side from many - Copper creek to be specific
Years ago WL had a flag raising ceremony which a family was invited.... if that area was open it would be another great spot.
Thinking about I am sure there are great views at AKL from some rooms as well the pool area at Kidani has some raised parts not positive it faces East however without the building blocking but I believe it does. But free and close I think you should be good from the bridge where at SSR. Problem is many areas but a lot of trees when you are not in a building with higher floors.
