Chances of adding a person to ADR?

My MIL recently decided to join us on our trip. I was able to shuffle most of my ADRs around to fit her in with us, but my kids REALLY want to eat at Sci-Fi. We have an ADR for one of our days, but it's for 4 people. We now need to add a 5th. I have been trying to get an ADR for 5, but there is nothing.

How likely would we be able to add a person to an existing ADR? My kids could easily fit 3 across in one of the cars (we did it before!), and not even take up more space.

Hoping I don't have to cancel Sci-Fi, it's the one place all three kids wanted to go to again!

Call Disney Dining. There's no guarantees...but I had a similar situation last year when my brother decided to come down and join us for a few days. I called the dining line and the CM was able to change my ADRs from four to five - even at 'Ohana.

Keep trying, and also try calling like mcd mentioned above. If you still can't get it adjusted, show up and see what they say. Worst thing they can do is say no, and leave you in the same spot you're already in.

Have a backup plan for MIL, I wouldn't cancel the meal since it sounds like it's the kids' main request. Worse comes to worse, she can eat elsewhere for that particular meal (and planning for that ahead of time will limit any disappointment if Sci-Fi says no).

Definitely call disney and find out from a CM. If that doesnt work, call back and speak to someone else! Theyre not always on the same page, and some CM's have more knowledge than others. If all else fails, (even after you've kept trying online), just show up with your MIL....im positive they wont turn you away!! Dont worry.

Just called - and could not add another person as all the ADRs are sold out for that day.

But, I did tell him 3 of the people were young children and I know they can squeeze in one seat (we did it before). So he suggested I keep my ADR for 4 people and just talk to the CM at the podium when we get there. They will most likely be able to squeeze us in.

Hoping we can work this out - the kids really want to do it!

Hope it works out too, just found out I may need to squeeze my nephew into our ADR's don't think it should be a problem since 3 of the guest are under 5.
