Chances for room requests

When I booked our 3 night stay at the Yacht Club, my TA put on the reservation that we are returning guests and put a specific request for a room. We are arriving early - before 11:00am.

I am just wondering if people usually get their requests? Should I contact the resort myself before arriving to reiterate the request?

Thanks for your time.

Kathy

Asking for a specific room will lower your chances of a request being granted. If you can put in a area, view, etc. you may have better chances.

I totally agree ::yes:: If you request a particular room # and someone else is in it already, you won't get it and they'll put you wherever. You are better off requesting a particular area so that they can see what rooms are available that fit your request. I wouldn't bother contacting the resort itself before leaving as I'm now hearing from alot of people here on the boards that the resorts are not excepting faxed requests and such...word is that your best bet is to put your requests in (in order of importance i.e. non-smoking, location or view, etc.) with CRO and then just reiterate the requests to the CM checking you in :scratchin You may want to have your TA call though and change your request from a particular room# to the location/area you're looking for (i.e. near the pool, close to an elevator, or whatever) to better your chance of having your request met.

Best of luck and have a great trip! :wave2:

The earlier you get there seems to increase your chance of getting what you want. On probably our last 5-6 trips we have arrived before 9:00 a.m. and "pre-checked" We have always gotten the location we desired - we did not request a certain room number, just an area.

Some resorts welcome a room request fax. Others do not accept them. Unfortunately yours does not accept them. Calling will do little to no good. The room assignor will not have anything on you until 3 days prior to your visit and ( if WDW is like anywhere else ) they likely wont remember requests given by phone. Just make sure it is noted with the CRO and request it again at the front desk when checking in.

I agree with everyone else. Get your TA to change your request to a more general one. Disney is NOT throwing someone out of the room for you even if you are a returning guest and it's not like they look that far ahead when doing room assignments.

This is true. We just got back and when we were checking into CBR we had a long wait because the lady ahead of us was arguing with the CM's at the front desk about her not receiving any of her room requests that she had faxed to them. They tried over and over to explain that the room requests come from what you request when you book and that none of the things she said she faxed were in the computer. Lady said, "But I know you received my fax." CM said, "We get hundreds of faxes every day. We can't possibly read them all." Luckily at this point another CM motioned us around her and our check in went smoothly. Make sure your requests are on your reservation and I'm sure if they can meet them they will. It's just not always a sure thing.

Cool. :smooth: Any resort pics. :) I am having a hard time with this resort picture addiction/withdraw AND trying to convince DW that CBR doesnt have 3 foot cockroaches. (She saw something about it on some thread on some other forum.)

I have been to CBR many many times and never had any creatures in the rooms. It is Florida though and the bugs are a little bigger here and more plentiful than when I lived in PA. It's the price you pay for living in Paradise. :)

If you haven't looked at my pictures I have plenty of CBR pictures on my website listed below.

Yeah. I used to live in FL. Lots of bugs! (I know. I've never been to the World. Weird huh?)

I've seen all your pics. Nice ones, but I need variety. LOL Actually I just want to see as many different pics of the resort as possible. :teeth:

As soon as I get my pictures developed I will try to figure out how to post them. Honestly, I think we would have liked CBR more if the weather were warmer and we could have gotten into the pool and the Caribbean theme more. And no, we saw no cockroaches or any bugs at all. Tell dw not to worry.

Yeah, CBR is gonna be great. She just has this bug "thing". I guess its sort of the same way I feel about her parents. :scared:  :crazy2:

I'm one of those people who did have bugs in my room at CBR..... :earseek:

Granted, this was several years ago, but even now, I wouldn't be caught dead there.......

Several years ago was before their rennovations. But I understand. If my DW saw a bunch of insects in the room she wouldnt ever go back either. Of course if she sees even one she acts like that couple from the Expedia commercial that has the mosquito net on their bed with the thousands of insects on it. :scared1:
