Chances for Poly at 7 months during pandemic

I have the first week of January that I pieced together right at 7 month but now it's looking like we won't go then as we are in the risky group and there likely won't be a sure vaccine to go around by then. I'm thinking to switch to the second week in May. In a normal year, I think I could probably get that at Poly with a little work, but do you think that everyone will rush to make plans once a vaccine does come out so 2021 will end up super busy? I know it would take that crystal ball and all, but will those of you currently holding off be booking as soon as you feel it's safe?

I’m guessing the fall frenzy (sept-mid December) will be even harder at 7mo with all owners booking at the 10/11mo mark. It will likely be close to impossible during fall frenzy to book at 7mo... but I could be wrong...

May is still possible- it is a high point time period so the point conscious dvc ppl will be less inclined. How does the calendar look right now at the 10mi mark??

I think your chances are good. Pre Covid we booked exactly at 7 months and were successful, stayed several times. As we move forward into this pandemic, many will not travel. There will be cancellations ongoing for those with trepidation about traveling

Right now it’s wide open, but I’m thinking they announce a vaccine and ”poof,” they’re gone.

Poly in the past has been available at 7 months out in May. How the pandemic (or cure of it) may effect next year is an unknown. You also have the "new" May factor in that the points per night are lower beginning in May 2021 than in May in prior years. But the likely lack of an announcement of a cure by October when you need to reserve, and the large number of studios at Poly, may keep any filling problem at bay.

I know poly is a great resort but points are very high and no 1 bedroom. Points are super high for a studio. The bungalows or whatever it’s called looks really nice but will take a enormous amount of points. I might stay there if just coming in for a cruise and only need one night but no way will I spend a week there on them outrageous points. But too each their own. Enjoy

now with your question you should have a good chance on getting it at seven months since points are so very high.

I like a kitchen and laundry so we don’t normally stay in studios. But I do like the 3rd bed and extra bath.

My wife and stayed by ourselves in a studio, but this is a first time for me with teen kids also in the studio lol. We told them to pack plenty of clothes (and trash bags haha) because we will not do laundy this trip.

This was the third time we stayed in a Poly studio and my husband just discovered the laundry room, so we had our laundry done before we came home. He's a night owl so he went down and did the laundry.

I'm booked at the Poly for a week in July 2021. Just like my June 2020 trip, you can always cancel and get your money back. Now, in my case, I have to use my airline tickets before December 2021, unfortunately. So if we don't go, we will lose that money. But you don't need to worry about cancelling WDW.
